The Pear are desperate

They are aging and Kochs time is running out. Hinkley must make top 4 or will be gone.

Heard an interesting interview friday where they were saying Ken would make a great neil balme type role. that makes sense to me - just not us...

Ooooh, Imagine if he did come to the light, and we snagged a flag within 2 seasons though.

Retirements? Tex 50:50, he’ll get an extension if output warrants and Sloane is all but a certainty to ask for an extension. Seedsman highly likely though. 1 definite retirement is all I can see.
My bad....
Retirements and delistings.

The end of 23 has a handful of marginal kids coming out of contract. It should be the first time the "new" club is faced with needing to cull players. This will be the first real test of our team solidarity.

As to Sloane, I hope he learnt something from the classy Joel Selwood retirement.

Kenny Rogers said it best...
"You gotta know when to hold em... know when to..." etc

If Frampton and McAsey both end up leaving, I wonder if we would look at Melican from Sydney as a KPD option. Seems to be gettable and in a good age range, thought he showed a fair bit in the past.

A far funnier outcome would be picking Hartigan back up in the rookie draft or supplementary player period though 😂

Why, he's right, it's definitely a scattergun approach by Powa, 1st it was Dunkley, then Rioli, when Dunkley gave them the ass they moved on to Jack Graham, then when JHF became available late in the piece Jack Graham got the ass....then a few clubs start inquiring about Ratugolea so Powa decide yeah let's have a go for him too. Maybe another player pops up as available in the last few days of trade week so no doubt Powa will be keen there too.
It sounds like powaa are strengthening their team with decent players. Don't know how anyone can have a go at them for that. Horne, Rioli , Ratagolea shits all over our trade period.

Ratagplea looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane

The Cats haven't been blessed with Rickman over the years and he has still struggled to make their side and for consistency

Rioli is another that comes with risk

They are giving up lots of draft picks and future young talent to bring this trio into the club and if they don't win a flag with this strategy it may hurt them for years to come

The best that you can hope for is to die in your sleep?

JHF is the only big move there. The rest are playing around the edges.
Rata is average and will play mostly SANFL.
Rioli is going to make Motlop of the last few years look like an elite athlete. He's in it for the pay cheque and couldn't give a shit about the rest.

What's staggering is that our side is so stacked we can't make any moves. You'd think we have a premiership winning team that is also full of top 10 draft picks.

90 plus percent of this is them landing HF - Rioli I'd pass on myself - if Esava can make it at AFL level as a key KPD than he adds but not a huge get and unproven but worth a try as a KPD they need it. We bring in Rankine star quality but yes a once in a generation elite pacey powerful mid is our most pressing need and we are still to address that. Port have :poo: on us this trading period if they land JHF. Tbh they would have one they trade period against all clubs if they land JHF. Richmond if they land both their men and Geelong have both done really well as well.

If we want 15, we will need to use 23 and a F2. GWS might be open to that - they have so many 2022 picks that getting a 2023 2nd would be attractive.

Agreed, feels like one of those picks swaps we would wait on for now or even on the night if the right player became available.

I'm no expert but hard to see us needing another pick this year given we now have 46. We might be better with another future 4th rather than nothing at all.
Gee, if WCE were still partially interested in M Crouch, could we try and trade him with the collingwood 2022 3rd rounder and the GC 4th rounder for the WCE future 2nd?...try something..anything

This is on the assumption we get another 3rd rounder for Frampton of course
It would be great if they asked the question on a deal like this one at least..more importantly, leave no stone unturned to get the best hand we can have

With pick swaps happening right up to draft time, there is plenty of time to sort pick swap deals and maybe arrange on night scenarios. If there is a player we like in the back end of the 1st round, our F2 could be quite valuable in such a scenario
