2022 NAB AFLW Preliminary Draft Order as at 31st May

We currently have the 10th pick in the Vic pool (Hawks x4, * x2, Saints, Tigers, Cats ahead of us). Trade period starts this afternoon so things will change. Figure we’ll do our best to trade up the order.

Egan is worth pick 18, yes?

Would like to say more, but not sure Jones would be worth more than a second rounder. Draft order not really affected in Qld though so GC may be persuaded otherwise. Maybe same for Wilson. Not sure about Stevens - she is contracted though, does that drive up the price?

Thinking Brazzale and Velardo a straight swap with maybe some change thrown in. McWilliams a late pick, considering her age and the fact the Cats weren’t offering her a contract anyway.

If the picks are not good enough for these players that want out, we need to get players in. Cant just have draft picks. We need to go for Jess Wutschner from Brisbane as a free hit. Need all the luck we can get. Harford doesnt seem to give a toss about us leaking good players, he just treats his coaching as a bit of fun. I cannot believe we signed him for a further 2 years. Shows how valuable Carlton think the AFLW is.

Jones worth a second. ? You joking. Have you seen her this year. Great footy brain.

Would love pick 19! Being pessimistic just minimises the inevitable disappointment 😂 Not sure if GC would give it up though, unless they had another first-rounder coming back in somewhere - would put them behind Brisbane.

Well if GC want a ready made good forward, then pick 19 is nothing. But i get it, the disappointment at the decisions this club makes makes us crazy.

THE Carlton Football Club can confirm forward Nic Stevens has been traded to St Kilda for first-round national selection pick No.28 (Victorian pick No.15) in the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.

here we go batman GIF

Stevens out is a loss, and it had to be a first round pick in return. Probably should have been St Kilda's first pick but I guess when players are walking out en masse you've got to take what you can get.

We now have pick 10 and 15 in the Victorian pool.

Taking the piss. Couldnt get pick 16 ? Wasn’t she contracted. Further shows how this club is not valuing the womens comp.

Lost interest now…
How unfair the competition is… It’s a joke…

We lose our best players for nothing and the expansion sides that weren’t interested in having a side, come in with a better list than us…

Can see the comp struggle for attendances next year, from the foundation clubs…

The sheer amount of established players willing to leave the blues has to point to something not quitt right within the walls of Ikon park. You can't blame the sheer amount of players leaving on the expansion club argument.

Player retention fail. Instead of being in contention, we're going through a rebuild. Waste of a really good squad 2 years ago.

Ugh at pick 28 for Nic Stevens. Unfortunately I am just about done with AFLW

She's 29. Seems like a decent pick. 15th in the Victorian pool.
