The whole Hancock/Diamonds drama will be an interesting watch.

Good for netballers for standing by a principle, even if I think it is a stupid and confusing principle to stand on. But I hope they are willing to take a pay cut if its actions cost Netball a lot of very needed money.
I also hope they don't use steel products themselves.

Rubbish - if its a 1980s comment by her dear old Dad, SURELY, a phone call would straighten out Mrs Rineharts opinion ( not just putting her money where her mouth is).

What her father has said.....not her directly. Not sure why Gina has to "defend" herself from her fathers comment

And normally is it different. that is, actions speak louder than words.

The AFL has a much higher cost structure (from the number of players alone) and invest huge amounts back into the game, which they should as a non-for-profit.
It's probably true that HQ remains bloated, and probably has been for a very long time.
Also, the NRL doesn't really have to invest heavily in player development. They have another football code doing half the work for them, and a virtual inexhaustable supply of Pacific Islanders who can step onto an NRL list. Pacific Islanders would make up about 0.5% of the Australian population, but make up about 45% of NRL playing rosters, which is quite extraordinary.
Where's the link to back up your claim that Pi's make up 45% about of NRL rosters?
Off course if you don't provide the link that's proves there isn't one

I was wrong - it's actually over 45%.

"Over 45 percent of NRL players have Pacific Island heritage and over 70 percent of the New Zealand Warriors squad were of Māori or Pacific descent. "

It's an extraordinary percentage when you consider Pacific Islanders make up about less than 0.5% of the Australian population.

It's good news for the NRL because they would have an inexhaustible supply of potential players without ever needing to invest one cent in grassroots rugby league.

When the time comes for the Storm to put a womens team in the NRLW, should that day ever arise, they will effectively have zero women in Victoria playing the game, but they would be able to find 13 Pacific Islanders somewhere that could become the core of the team, and who'd become quite competitive from day one.

The writer makes the claim, but like you doesn't provide a link to back up the claim.
Is there a problem for you with Pi's or people of Pi descent playing the game, or is it racism on your part?
Anyone can make a claim, but needs a link to back it up

How is asking for a link being a troll?

By being pathetic amongst other things.
Now provide the link to back up your claim, or perhaps there isn't one

I'll provide as many links as you have provided me with after request.

Which one is it?

It's common knowledge that Pacific Islanders make up 45% about of NRL rosters?and has been for a while. Don't tell me you didn't know this.
it's probably up to 50% now Pacific Islanders make up of NRL rosters.

What a ridiculous assumption. Poster said nothing derogatory about Pasifika people.

Where's the link to back up your claim that Pi's make up 45% about of NRL rosters?

"News Limited recently published statistics showing the current number of NRL players of Pasifika decent is now 48%." 2016
So I'm probably right in guessing it's 50% or more now.

Off course if you don't provide the link that's proves there isn't one

No. it proves nothing but allows me to post things like
"News Limited recently published statistics showing the current number of NRL players of Pasifika decent is now 48%."

"News Limited recently published statistics showing the current number of NRL players of Pasifika decent is now 48%. This fact has created significant growth opportunities for international rugby league. To look at the simple statistic of the percentage of NRL Players of pacific island decent (or ARL and NSWRL when measured historically) is to look at rapidly rising parabolic curve.

In 1976, just 0.1% of players in Australia’s first grade competition were of pacific island decent. This slowly increased to 0.7% in 1986, 10% in 1996, 20.1% in 2006 and 48% in 2016. That’s a rise of almost 30% in the space of 10 years.

You only have to look at the teams on the field to see the massive amount of Pacific Islanders that now play from as we know 5% of the aussie population!'

No other sport in Australia apart from RU relies so heavily on these types of players and it will eventually be the two rugby codes downfall when other non Islander kids give the gave away - which is already happening!

That is the big important difference for Australian Football and Soccer who do get players from all around the nation because they have teams in every mainland State not just basically two states or one ethnic group!

Why do you have a problem with Pi's or players of PI descent playing the Rugby codes?

Dude. 2 seconds in google and youd have found it. Something can exist and you be ignorant of it at the same time. I bet they are all citing the same 45% from the 2014 report.

The NRL says 45 per cent of players identify as Maori and Pasifika in the elite men’s competition, while the numbers increase to 48 per cent in NRLW.

Now the NRL reports 45 per cent of its players identify as Pacific Islander or Māori.

45% NRL PLAYERS have Pacifik Heritage

That begs the question why the other posters couldn't do the same.
Perhaps they don't know how to post a link.
You have said many times in the past that posters should post a link when making a claim, so why didn't they?

Wrong word - "couldn't" should be wouldn't.
Perhaps they don't know how to post a link.

We're not babies like you and know posting a quotation is as good as posting a link.

You have said many times in the past that posters should post a link when making a claim, so why didn't they?

because we like having a bit of fun with a dumb troll - simple enough for you.
