Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Yep could do worse than Willo thereI think our wingers need to be ballistic runners, but also tough, smart and selfless.
The only candidates that currently fit that exact bill are Walsh and Cerra, but then we're robbing Peter to pay Paul.
Docherty might be an option, but please don't suggest Lob. He doesn't apply anywhere near enough pressure when he doesn't have the ball.
I'd try Williamson there. Lacking a little in smarts, and disposal efficiency, but has the rest covered
No Cunnington or Anderson, though Goldstein will absolutely murder us.Against lesser experienced Norf, Mots must be a serious chance next week

Anyone got a link to Voss presser?
Couldn’t find it on Kayo.
I think he'll be a bit overwhelmed in 2022, but it will make him a beast 2023.If Pitto is out for an extended period of time it might actually help TDKs development. He needs to impose himself.

When Cuningham returns does he have the endurance for playing wing?
It reminded me of Round 20, 2000 when Jason Johnson crashed into Kouta's knee.I would put my remaining $12.50 that it's a 10 week PCL. The slow mo shows the tibia move about 4cm posteriorly when it gets smashed in to.
Darcy clearly had eyes on the player to hurt it.
Hate to say it but they need to get rid of the the knee contact. Should just make the ruckman circle tiny so it's a standing jump only. Bang. There goes knee injuries.
Unfortunately we go from top 8 team to bottom 8 team with him out.

I’ve also factored in at least 3 games in the 2s to get form and accustomed to the game plan given the length of his absence and changes in personnel during that time.Report noted “middle of the season”, whatever it will thankfully be sooner than 12 weeks
yeah, they walked through our 'tackles' time and time again....We had a terrible bottom 6-8 tonight. Setters too slow and zero presence. Fisher can’t stick a tackle. Don’t see what the coaches see in Boyd, looks a trier but that’s about it. Parks and Young get outmarked too easily (although Young did some good things). Newnes had a mare. Small forwards had little impact. Our two talls were mitigated when the umpires decided blocking and holding was allowed.
Bring in Stocker, Carroll, Kemp next week and hopefully some others returning from injuries.
Scoreboard did flatter Freo in the end but we are far away from being a good side. As usual relying on Cripps to drag us over the line, at least he had some support today with Cerra and Hewett. The next three weeks Roos, Crows and GWS are crucial.
The sample size is big enough now to be a trend. It’s clear as day that we lack outside run. I could take pot shots at certain players who just aren’t up to it but that’s the reality.. there’s a handful of players who try hard but don’t have the skills, decision making, or leg speed to be effective at AFL level. We badly need to address this over the next couple of off-seasons.
It’s not all doom and gloom though because we clearly have a lot of pieces which other clubs would be envious off. We have a very solid midfield. We have power forwards. We have an All-Australian caliber key defender. We need to build around these guys with the correct pieces.
This season is all about learning the new game plan and seeing which players have the ability to carry it out successfully. What has been evident though is we allow the opposition to hit up the short kick far too often (even when they haven’t moved the ball quickly). This is an absolute pet peeve because it just allows the opposition the chance to drain any momentum we may generate but also allows them to chip it down the field until they can launch an inside 50. Inside 50’s should be earned but we give them up far too easily. Not a sustainable brand of footy. I’m not sure if this occurs because we are so worried about our defence that we try to get numbers back, if we lack genuine footy IQ and instincts, or whether it’s a lack of leg speed on the outside.
Anyways, Fremantle far too good tonight and further highlighted the weaknesses on our list. Good luck to them, they’re building nicely and outplayed us immensely. They have the outside run but no gun key forwards. We have the key forwards but no outside run. Both flawed teams until that can be addressed.
Big ups to our skipper though. Lionhearted effort. Hewett also cracked in all game. Saad tried to bring some dash at times. Those were our best three for mine.
Some key issues:
1. Forward 50 entries are lazy...kicking to a huge contest rather than picking a player out.
2. Fisher needs to come out for Carroll, he goes missing way too much and when he has the ball he isn't impacting.
3. Owies is a great story but in reality it's Motlop's position that he is taking. Motlop's upside will be exponentially higher.
I don’t like what Young was showing down back
The bullodgs were keen to say goodbye
Freo are a level above. Wait until they get fyfe back.
When Harry attacks the ball and leads hard he 100% looks a million dollars but I noticed last night that he seemed far to willing to engage in wrestling with his opponent and when he did that he started flaying his arms about and looking to the umpires at which point he essentially becomes completely useless to us.Harry's been pretty important late in the close ones this year. A portion of his goals are now going to Charlie.
I am far more concerned about Owies and Durdin. Durdin's smart and a hard worker, but you cannot be a pressure forward by yourself. You need at least two others who also bring the pain around the balldrop, and you need teammates who don't over commit to the ball instead of ensuring that the next tackle is taken care of.
Owies is looking slow, unable to find separation, unable to kick further than 30m, and easy to shrug off. Jack is really too slow and not agile enough to be a pressure forward, even with all the will in the world.
We desperately need Motlop to come in and have an impact, almost immediately.
