What do you reckon we should offer for Gunston? I might be able to have a word to my people and get a trade done if you come up with a decent suggestion
We shouldn't take Grundy off the Pies books, for them. That just helps them get their list in order.
Leave them high and dry I say, with Grundy's salary black-hole.

I'd rather McStay, to replace TMc, as our leadup half forward, while JvR still grows.

We can use Maxy more and more as deep forward. As he ages.

That's just wanting the Pies to lose more than you want the Dees to improve with a ready made ruck, don't let your hatred cloud your logic.
Unless you can personally somehow organise us a few realistic key forward options he may be the best choice for us at the moment.

Couldn't even get close to affording him
No; but we should pencil in Cameron Rayner... RFA at the end of 2025.
We should be getting on the right side of him, from now on.

We might have a spot open for a mid, around 2024/5... with Viney currently 28.5Yrs, and Brayshaw nearing 27Yrs.

What was it Clarkson, Viney, Yze, Bruce and even Neitz maybe?
Loyalty is our theme at Melbourne.

Every heart beats true, for the Red and the Blue,

And we sing this song to you,
Should old acquaintance be forgot,

Loyal assistants, but which player from Melbourne has gone on to coach and win Premierships, since the days of Smith and Barassi.?

Clarko, I see as a Roo.

No, not at all.

I see McStay as being about the equal of TMc, and similar game types. I think he is a very useful mobile, genuine 3rd tall forward. He wouldn't cost us too much, in cap space.

And our system would pretty much stay as is, for now. We'll need more cap space for next year, to grab a 200cm+ tall forward.

I don't hate any sides at all, these days.

The closest would be the blues... and brown paper bags.

I actually think trading Salem makes a lot of sense, but I don't see it happening because clubs are wary of pushing out contracted players. He still has four years to run on a deal and is best mates with Trac and Oliver, he isn't going to want to leave and it'll get real messy if we try and force him out.

Have Goody tell the playing group that hes his drug dealer and that hes a bad influence like he did Watts.

One consideration with recruiting new players is how many list spots we have available. There aren't too many obvious candidates for delisting from the senior squad this year except for Baker and Rosman, meaning if Jackson goes we'll likely only have three list spots available (currently we only have picks 35, 41 and 53, but we can expect at least one more high pick for Jackson this year). That means if we want to trade for someone, we'll probably need to trade someone out to make room for them.

HaHa... he already is on the job for next year. Has been in the ear of sDraper about coming over.
Maxy wants to finish up as a tall forward. So sees the need for a new numero-uno ruck.

Draper is all ears. & heir.
Oh jesus

Just don’t do it mate. Don’t.

I think if we miss out on the GF this year there may be a few retirements as well.

Didnt you like the clever play on words by SH? Heir to our ruck throne.... I thought for SH this was one of his better ones. (this is of assuming he misspelt hair intentionally which I cant be sure of given his history of spelling mistakes)

MELBOURNE defender Joel Smith is closing in on a new deal with the Demons.

The out-of-contract backman was unlucky to miss out on last year's premiership win for the Demons but is on track for what will likely be a two-year contract extension.

It would take Smith through to the end of 2024 at the Demons, with clubs around the competition securing their key defenders with a shortage in the League.

True, the corio bay roadhouse is probably the finest roadhouse ive ever been to. Their Sav's in batter use proper Don hotdogs, none of the nonsense hotdogs you from the deli at Wooly's or Coles
I haven't been there in years. We would always stop in there for some food as a kid on the way home. Is it any good these days?

Dunno mate, I havent been past it in many many years either now i dont have to go thru Geelong if im heading to Melbourne. Id imagine the ring road would have killed business tho.

I used to get Hawaiian jaffles on the way to work some mornings from there when I was working in Lara in my early 20's, weren't bad at all

24 games in seven years on the list. The great survivor lol.

That being said, handy depth. Like the idea of him up forward too.
