Adelaide has decided against nominating Isaac Keeler under Next Generation Academy rules

Crows aren't nominating Keeler.

I hope we take him and two other ruckmen. Eventually play keepings off with the other teams' tiny midfielders by handpassing it over their heads.

Ben Brown will be an essential part of this strategy and should get a contract extension.

My guess is that if we're planning to retool out forward line by playing Petty as a KPF/FF we might need a KPD just to shore up a spot back there. Probably Van Es.

Real question is: Why Jefferson and not Keeler?

From the sounds of it no one has Keeler in front of Jefferson. Keeler could be anything apparently recruiters have said could play 0 games or 300. No one really knows. Seems the talent is there but has some work to do. Jefferson sounds a far safer pick also is a need.
I’m bit convinced we’ll play Petty forward. I actually like the idea but think club wants him back. Although if Brown and Tmac don’t play much next year we may be forced.

Because Keeler is lazy. I wasn't remotely surprised that Adelaide didn't nominate him as an NGA.

It seems more and more likely that Jefferson will be there at our pick so then it's over to Jason Taylor. We'll find out if he rates him or not.

My opinion is that I think we'll take best available talent that can come in and impact early next year. Could be the likes Hollands Gibney, Allan, George etc.

I have heard Twomey link Jefferson to Dees. Hasn’t done his phantom as leaves to last minute. The herald sun podcast recently had a bloke who has been taking to clubs etc. I assume they’ll know more than us.
If one of those guys you mentioned slides we’ll probably take. I don’t think they will. Ed Allan has plenty of upside but I don’t think he’s necessarily impacting next year.

Scully and Lemmey loom as late/rookie picks also. Both quiet tall and some exciting traits. Our second pick would be a reach but rookie draft could be an option for one.

From what I’ve read/heard seems he’ll be likely a top 40 pick. But still interesting they didn’t nominate him. I think they may have limited list spots also in play.

That's the bizarre part. He's almost 2ms tall and could be anything, yet it's open slather for him. Most clubs would nominate his size and type automatically for their respective NGAs. Unless they know something we don't, it doesn't add up.

Scully and Lemmey loom as late/rookie picks also. Both quiet tall and some exciting traits. Our second pick would be a reach but rookie draft could be an option for one.

That'll be funny if we drafted another Tom Scully.

I rate Lemmey a much better prospect even thought he hasn't risen to expectations this year's.

At the start of thr year he was rated as genuine top 5 prospect and number 1 key forward at under 18 level but for some whatever reason he hasn't come on.

I understand the Lucas cook vibes. if he doesn't make it, it will be his lack of physicality. but he seems to attack the ball in the air pretty well and reads the play at an elite level.

I wonder what the failure rate is for drafting key forwards (and then staying at the club).

Other than Swartz, Neitz (better defender) we haven't had much luck, it would have to be under 10%

revolving door of 195cm + players labelled as the one just to be washed out

Twomey does rate Jefferson though. 12th in his power rankings. Unless someone slides unexpectedly I think we’ll take him.
