Are you saying David Neitz was a better defender?I wonder what the failure rate is for drafting key forwards (and then staying at the club).
Other than Swartz, Neitz (better defender) we haven't had much luck, it would have to be under 10%
revolving door of 195cm + players labelled as the one just to be washed out
I haven't heard the Twomey link.
Jefferson doesn't do it for me at all. He's years away from impacting at senior level and there's a lot of Lucas Cook/Jack Watts laconic about him. Even watching him at under 18's level he was still getting brushed aside way too easily.
I rate Lemmey a much better prospect even thought he hasn't risen to expectations this year's.
At the start of thr year he was rated as genuine top 5 prospect and number 1 key forward at under 18 level but for some whatever reason he hasn't come on.
Foster is who I want with our 2nd pick.Jefferson is 194cms and 76kgs
Lemmey is 199cms and 94kgs
A dark horse or a smokey: Phoenix Foster @ 197cms and 87kgs

That's great that he rates him, but I just personally can't see it with Jefferson.Twomey does rate Jefferson though. 12th in his power rankings. Unless someone slides unexpectedly I think we’ll take him.
I also think we'll just go best available around that pick which imo, is not Jefferson.I’ve said earlier that I think we are keen to move the pick - either up, or down.
So many mock drafts have us taking Jefferson but I think that’s more about our need for key forwards and him being rated in the 12-15 zone.
I’m pretty certain we won’t be taking Jefferson if we use pick 13. I can see him being a bit of a ‘slider’ and moving his way to the back of the first round or even early second.
He has a massive aerobic capacity apparently and huge x-factor so there is something to work with. That's great that he rates him, but I just personally can't see it with Jefferson.
Tall skinny key forward who lacks aggression goes against everything we target as a players in terms of being competitive and physical.
In saying that, if we were to recruit him then I'll 100% back our development team.
Ok cool. You mentioned Twomey so thought you must rate his ranking. That's great that he rates him, but I just personally can't see it with Jefferson.

Bailey Fritsch doesn't seem like a JT pick
?In terms of height and weight Bayley Fritsch is the same as Liam Jurrah. 188cms/84kgs.
I dunno. Just wanted to post something. As you were.

I thought of Fritsch when posting, but it isn't exactly equivalentBailey Fritsch doesn't seem like a JT pick
Agree. There's no comparisons to Fritsch.I thought of Fritsch when posting, but it isn't exactly equivalent
He's very courageous in the air for his size and goes when it's his turn. He also dominated against men in the VFL.
Let's say that we do go with a George or a Hollands. When do you think we will address our key forward woes? Next draft? Next trade period? Like it's getting dire.Agree. There's no comparisons to Fritsch.
I think we'll go best available for pick 13 or a slider.
I do know for a fact that we've put significant time into Brayden George and Ollie Hollands from the Murray Bushrangers. I'm sure we've done the same for a few other players around the mark but we've definitely got significant interest in these two.

Picking up a young forward in the draft isn't going to fix your key forward woes immediately.Let's say that we do go with a George or a Hollands. When do you think we will address our key forward woes? Next draft? Next trade period? Like it's getting dire.
Probably, yeah. Kind of pointless just picking a tall kid who won't be ready for two years because he's tall enough.Let's say that we do go with a George or a Hollands. When do you think we will address our key forward woes? Next draft? Next trade period? Like it's getting dire.
Yeah, these are the two names that seem to stand out and matches up with old mates' mail that says we are looking at a Vic Country kidAgree. There's no comparisons to Fritsch.

yeah, but we're not in the premiership window with Brown as our forward so how long will we keep stalling and delaying picking up a key forward? We have JVR ready to go.
Like it or not one of TMac or Brown are likely to play most games. A tall forward picked in this years draft is very unlikely to go past them this year.
Game plan and forward entries will determine if we have a good forward line in 2023.
Hoping a draftee tall will give us a better forward line in 2023 is madness.
I guess it all comes down to if you think we're in the premiership window. Believe it or not Ben Brown and Tom Mcdonald are another year older so will be somehow even slower than last season. If you believe we're in the premiership window with this forward line then yeah it makes sense to pick someone who just may be able to help us.Probably, yeah. Kind of pointless just picking a tall kid who won't be ready for two years because he's tall enough.
well I would argue that basically any new draftee is better than Ben Brown but that's the story for another day. Yeah, it doesn't help our forward woes immediately but it helps our forward line list profile immediately. We literally have 2 key forwards on our list in JVR and Tom Mcdonald. Brown and Scache are too bad that they don't count. I'm all for going for best available, even if it isn't Jefferson, but what if there's no appropriate key forward in next years first round? Do we then delay it to 2024 before picking one up? I just think the urgency isn't where it needs to be at.Picking up a young forward in the draft isn't going to fix your key forward woes immediately.
You do realise that right?
