I know man. It's weird.

On another note, I'm hearing Tom Powell prefers goat's cheese over regular cheese. You can take that to the bank ;)
I hear things too...

First thing that we need to do it nominate Ashcroft so the Lions have to use their points.
I like your thinking. We should be purely motivated to do stuff that the AFL don't want us to do. We should declare to anyone who will listen who we are taking with the first pick the in the draft the second the trade period is over. **** waiting for the night of the draft.

So next years draft is meant to be very strong, we get two picks that we have to give to other clubs or lose them forever. How does that not put other clubs in a good postion while dealing with us next year? They get to offload some spuds and we have to hope to get a fair deal.
Dead right Kangaroo Cat. I would love to know who from the AFL actually has the final say on our picks. I am sure someone on here would know. Should appeal it. Ha ha could you imagine it off to court we go.

I’m actually just going to take it to court myself for the club, I’ll win with all the precedents that have been set in the past.

I disagree with the sentiment. We haven’t sucked for long enough to warrant significant help. We made prelims 7 years ago and have only really been totally shit for 4 years.

I think this is about right for help. We shouldn’t get anything more given it was our list management and Brad Scott with his perpetual mediocrity and unwillingness to develop talent that stuffed us.

Looks like that is it. Hopefully the club can make it work in our favour.

NORTH Melbourne has received two future draft picks for next year as part of their AFL assistance package, but they must trade them as the League hopes to fast-track the Kangaroos' rebuild with experience.

The AFL has given the Kangaroos a second-round pick and third-round pick for 2023 on the proviso they must be traded for at least one player, as well as granting the Roos two extra list spots, which AFL.com.au revealed this month was a key part of their pitch to headquarters.

The selections won't carry into 2023 for North Melbourne if they are not traded this year, but will be tied to North's finishing position next year for whoever ends up with them, creating a marketplace for rival clubs to take them from the Roos.

The assistance package has been designed to make North Melbourne more competitive sooner whilst also not penalising other clubs' draft positions, with the League having been keen to protect the integrity of this year's draft order.

The combination of picks was approved on Monday, with North Melbourne having spent months in talks with the League about the possible priority options.

The extra rookie list spots will allow the Roos to re-sign their younger, more inexperienced players while they target more options to bring in via trades and free agency this year.

Fremantle's Griffin Logue has nominated North Melbourne as his preferred new home, while St Kilda's Hunter Clark is also in the Kangaroos' sights.

The Roos currently hold pick No.1 but have been open to splitting the selection if any other clubs want to move up the draft board, with their next pick coming at the start of the fourth round at No.55.

So what you are saying here is that 7 years ago under Scott we where successful but since he has been gone we have been crap is that right.

If Clarke from St Kilda is gettable I'd throw our non-assistance Future 2nd and maybe Future 3rd pick swap at them.

Once that trades done then split pick 1 (3000) with GWS or Gold Coast.

GC pick 5 & 7 (3522)

GWS Pick 3 & 12 (3502)

Paying (500) points to get the exact player you want.

GC Trade possibly more likely.

No way we’d get either of those packages for pick 1.

Not sure what all the hullabaloo is about.

The future picks will help us pick up the Log as a minimum.

Agree. It's better than nothing and yes the comp isn't even we know that but let's take what we are given and move on. Still a lot of positives to look fwd to this trade period

this is where the small print bites, we have to trade them before this years draft or they expire, ie, they are picks we cannot use (must be traded by us) . and heres the untimate insult, said picks used by other clubs will make our 3nd and 4th picks more watered down!

Do we have to trade those PP for a player.

Could we not just trade those to Gold Coast for their bounty of second rounders this year.

Similar to the Collingwood trade last year?
