Thought it was curious when the AFL upon handing out its "assistance package" stated that they didn't want us to stockpile picks. Very curious. Almost like they knew TT and JHF would be leaving.
they were sitting on the clarko allegations when they gave us that bs

Imagine us with #1, #2 (PP), #5 (TT), #7 (Bowes), #8 (JHF), #11 (PP)

Saints on Hill, Clark, De Goey

St Kilda list manager James Gallagher says running machine Bradley Hill is still a required player despite interest from clubs including North Melbourne.

"We haven't had any communication from North Melbourne at all," Gallagher told reporters at the opening day of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period at Marvel Stadium.

"We've had plenty of open discussions with Brad about his footy and what he wants to achieve and how happy he is and where he wants to play his footy for the remainder of his career, and all indications are that's at St Kilda.

"He's played a lot of good footy for us but probably hasn't quite been as consistent as we needed him to be and in fairness, he had some mates this year, so I reckon there's a lot more in Brad so we'd love to explore that and work with him to get as close as we can to his best footy.

"He's not easily replaceable, Brad, so that's our intention at the moment."

Gallagher also said defender Hunter Clark remained a required player, and the club didn't intend to trade its top pick at this year's NAB AFL Draft.

He added that the Saints were right in the mix to lure Collingwood's Jordan De Goey as a free agent "until 9 o'clock on Thursday night" but the resulting free cap space would allow the club to assess its options through the Trade Period.

Port young guns not up for grabs

Port Adelaide has ruled out parting with talented youngsters Miles Bergman or Josh Sinn as part of a package to land Jason Horne-Francis from North Melbourne.

Although not going into specifics on what a potential deal to land last year's No.1 pick could look like, Port's football manager Chris Davies categorically ruled out moving Sinn or Bergman.

"They're both contracted at Port Adelaide and neither have suggested they want to go, and we don't want either of them to go," Davies said on Monday.

Bergman has played 23 games since being drafted with pick No.14 in 2019, while Sinn played one game in 2022 after being taken at No.12 in last year's draft.

Davies wouldn't comment on whether he thought Port's first round draft selections this year and in 2023 would be enough to get the deal done.

"I'm really confident a deal can be struck as long as both parties are fair and reasonable," he said.

"If there's a deal to be done, then I think both clubs have historically got deals done when there's one to be had."

We don't want JHF to go either.

We want Port to be fair and reasonable after white anting a #1 draft pick all year 11 months into his career.

We need to be completely unreasonable in these discussions.

Go full Dodoro, don't even pick up the phone until they are on the table.
