I trust Clarko and Viney. They will get this done appropriately for what our club deserves. I can see pick 1 = 3, 12, 18. I’m finding the JHF trade harder to decipher but would be extremely happy if we kept him too. If we happened to get pick 12, that ain’t going to Saints for Hunter Clark, would be used on someone like Jefferson in my opinion. Hunter Clark is a second round pick.

Was thinking about this earlier if we can walk away with 2,3,12 Clark and a F1st for jhf and 1 I think it’s around the mark

  • 2 of sheezel cadman and wardlaw
  • A pick before cooper that depending on what’s there we can either trade up live or flick into the first round next year
  • Clark - for pick 18
  • Future first I’d expect to be between 12-18 next year.

Basically two trades
1> 3,12,18
Jhf > 2, F1st

This is all hinging on the potential that next years kpf are better than cadman

Cadman would have to be better than two of Wardlaw/Sheezel/Tsatas combined to prefer the alternative.

I know multiclub deals are wild but in this case I don’t like thinking pick 1 is on the table if we haven’t got pick 2, so a package of deals can help.

And I honestly don’t care if a multiclub deal works out well for Port or not. I only care if the result works for us. I’d rather have a better outcome for North where Port is also happy than a lesser outcome for North that hits them harder. The only revenge that counts, if you are into that, is our club getting better on field.

If we don't go cadman what options do we have on regards to key forwards if larkey goes down?

Comben, not up to it, too injury prone. CCJ is more a resting ruck.

Whose left? He needs some help and that should be the main priority.

Any genuine stop gap options available?

Settle there is a bloke called Todd Viney and another named Clarkson who will have veto on this - please stop having a go at Rawlings every 5 minutes. Viney is a good operator and I can see him sitting back laughing at Tom Brownes suggested trade.
Yep. Seems like the media have spoken with Port and GWS who are winning big time in the trade. There must be big parts missing.

All we have said this week is.
  • 8 and F1 is not good enough and we had better deals last year.

Last night's deal.
  • 2 and F1.
  • Yes better but we are giving up 12 to get 2, not Port. Port still only have 8 and F1 listed.
  • Port need to give us something equaling 12 back like Sin/Bergman
  • GWS need to give up more than 3 and12. Maybe something for Clark.

12 is going to West Coast

After reading thousands of trade scenario’s, it’s done my head in….but

I’d like to see the Hopper deal go down first to see GWS full hand and what we can extract. Maybe Tigers future first comes into it. Then do the trade with them if we are going to.

Worry about Port at the end. If they haven’t shaken a player out of the tree by close of business Monday, the deal is well and truly on the rocks.

Is this trade circus still on going over the weekend or do they have the weekend off?
From memory, no trades are processed over the weekend but discussions can carry on.

3 and 12 for 1 is a shit deal in anyone’s language…!

It’s like 500 points over value but gets Gws the best player in the draft (Ashcroft has to be excluded as he isn’t actually in the draft as he isn’t available to anyone but Brions).

Why the **** would we even contemplate, like these ****ing trade gurus keep coming up with, for 500 points value a trade down 2 spots!

Because the top 5 are good and we get a free swing with 12

Agree on the value, but he's under contract with StKilda. It's a bit rich of us (not referring to you) to point to JHF's contract and then ask for Clark without giving St Kilda a reason to let him out of his contract.

Unless we give a pick in the teens, he's staying at StKilda IMO.

Personally would prefer we hold JHF at the moment, and also see where Clark is at in 12 months.

North, for losing Horne-Francis, would scoop up pick No.2 as well as likely Port Adelaide's future first-round pick, with a number of other current and future draft selections also discussed as part of the trade talks.
This on the AFL website. Wow we scoop up pick 2 and loss pick 1 for Ports F1 and other crapy picks.
If we want picks like 12 15 19. We can have them when we finish in the top 8.

I don't think Cadman is the answer.

He is rated the 4-5th best player in this draft.

Any stand out tall forward in past years is rated as number 1.

GWS need him because:-

1. He is the best tall in this draft.

2. He is a country boy and more likely to not ask for a trade after 2 years.

Having said that if we do pick him I'm all on board.

IN CLARKO I TRUST

12, 15, 18 from GWS out pick 1, 59 & F4

3365 points received, lost 3158 in this draft and 158 next year or a surplus of 39 points - fair for both parties.

8, F1, 33 from Port for old mate, points received will range from 4100-3200 depending on Ports finish in 2023 (4-14 for arguments sake)
Compensation for pick 1 wasted but less than the 5000 mega point offer from Radelaide in 2021.

This leaves North with 8, 12, 15, 18, 33

In addition one would assume pick 1, 4-14 and 19 in next years draft.

Ample opportunity of landing:

Jhye Clark - inside mid with pick 8
Matthew Jefferson - KF with pick 12
Jedd Busslinger - KD with pick 15
Lewis Hayes - KD with pick 18
Jakob Ryan - Running defender with pick 33

Personally I don’t mind inbounding 5 of the ‘best’ kids in the country in a draft.

Pick one is just pointless with all the FS, academy etc

If we are trading two pick 1 s we need at least 2 top 5 picks back and the rest, **** them , keep them both. As I said earlier we have worked diligently to become this shit on field we need top picks, the cream, not copious amounts of late round 1 picks .

This.

2 and F1 is ok

Giving up 12 to get 2 is not the right deal for us. It needs another 1st or a player be it from port or enough currency to land Clark.

I will say I don't think going in with the mind set that Port needs to lose will get us the best possible deal. Don't get me wrong I want them to pay, but if they get other clubs in on the deal and we get what we want, them walking away with a good deal for them is not our concern.

As long as we get what we believe is the right deal as we have the most currency in this 2 number 1 picks.

Souup roos_fanatic08 where does Cadman sit against 2023 draft talls
Who the **** would know? Harry Lemmey was meant to go top 5 this year and now he's be lucky to get drafted. 12 months is a long time.

Cadman was an unknown for most people this time last year too

We don’t even have the pie to put the cream on.

Ablett is arguably the best cream in history, didn’t work out well for GC.
