If Jesus thinks this is great the Magic Trade Dice must agree, let’s ask

I don't think it's great but I think it's a good outcome for the club. Picks 2 & 3 this year plus Clark on top of Log and Tucker plus enough points for Harvey

2 F1st, 2 F2nd and 2 F3rds is a very strong hand next year.

That's a good trade period.

If we don't go cadman what options do we have on regards to key forwards if larkey goes down?

Comben, not up to it, too injury prone. CCJ is more a resting ruck.

Whose left? He needs some help and that should be the main priority.

Any genuine stop gap options available?
No reliable back up. If we are skipping over Cadman (massive mistake imo) then we need to try and trade in an older experienced key forward even if it’s for 12-24 months. Josh Bruce is someone that comes to mind as he probably gets pushed out of dogs 22, and could at the very least provide good support for Larkey for a couple of years if we aren’t going Cadman.

I think forward was the question. We would need to draft Jefferson at 12 most likely.

Perhaps a good/mediocre stop-gap KPF has been identified in trade week. But for us to have still not addressed our key forward stocks is negligence, especially considering the potential draft capital we could have in our hands.

Who the * would know? Harry Lemmey was meant to go top 5 this year and now he's be lucky to get drafted. 12 months is a long time.

Cadman was an unknown for most people this time last year too
There was a lad at the Cannons a few years ago O’Kearney won the b&f as a bottom age player touted as top 10 in the next year’s draft only to go rookie and then delisted without playing a game. A year is along time in football

12, 15, 18 from GWS out pick 1, 59 & F4

3365 points received, lost 3158 in this draft and 158 next year or a surplus of 39 points - fair for both parties.

8, F1, 33 from Port for old mate, points received will range from 4100-3200 depending on Ports finish in 2023 (4-14 for arguments sake)
Compensation for pick 1 wasted but less than the 5000 mega point offer from Radelaide in 2021.

This leaves North with 8, 12, 15, 18, 33

In addition one would assume pick 1, 4-14 and 19 in next years draft.

Ample opportunity of landing:

Jhye Clark - inside mid with pick 8
Matthew Jefferson - KF with pick 12
Jedd Busslinger - KD with pick 15
Lewis Hayes - KD with pick 18
Jakob Ryan - Running defender with pick 33

Personally I don’t mind inbounding 5 of the ‘best’ kids in the country in a draft.

Pick one is just pointless with all the FS, academy etc
Yuck!!!
I would not be happy at all with this outcome.
All I see is speculative picks in a draft that drops away quick.

You will never get to make the pie getting picks like 15 18 etc you need the very top picks, pretty simple . Otherwise you just sit in the middle for eternity, like we have .

If we are trading two pick 1 s we need at least 2 top 5 picks back and the rest, * them , keep them both. As I said earlier we have worked diligently to become this s**t on field we need top picks, the cream, not copious amounts of late round 1 picks .

It's true. We are certainly not rising up the ladder with a bunch of Shaun Atleys and Mason Woods.

I’m finally starting to settle down and am just about over seeing everything through the fog of fury that descended on me when Port and JHF pulled their crap on us.

Fact is JFF is a nob and wants out so good riddance. So to all those posters that have said we need not to worry less about what others team are getting and concentrate on the best outcome for us, you’re right.

Thought I do hope port cops it in the neck.

Said it before & nothing has changed, tell Port get us 2, F1 & Sinn / Bergman for JHF. Don't bother calling with other BS deals. That's what we demand otherwise he stays. It's not going to be this crap notion of win/win or fair for both parties. WE hold the cards here.

This is the conclusion I’ve come to this morning as well. What’s best for us? If it’s 2, 3 and some future firsts, cool. If it’s something else cool, in viney/shnoz/clarko (whoever else) we trust!

But also this
Thought I do hope port cops it in the neck.
**** port

I suggest that West Coat might be willing to give us pick 2 for our future first, given that they see some quality WA kids at the top of next year's draft, and they would be willing to bet we are bottom 3 again.

We can also deal directly with GWS for pick 1 and take their 3 and 12 (and maybe 19) for that.

JHF does not have to be involved in either of those win-win trades. Port just has to shake a very good player loose to go along with 8 and future first round. If they won't do that, then we hold onto him and still walk away with an outstanding trade period result and a powerful hand at the draft.

Yeah I’m keeping pick 1 and taking Cadman

It's pretty evident that the 6-way trade absolutely won't happen, hell the 4-way won't happen either. The more complicated the trade the less likely to occur. I think we've given clear demands to Port for what we would accept and it is up to Port to find a way to get the pieces to satisfy us.

3 and 12 for 1 is a s**t deal in anyone’s language…!

It’s like 500 points over value but gets Gws the best player in the draft (Ashcroft has to be excluded as he isn’t actually in the draft as he isn’t available to anyone but Brions).

Why the * would we even contemplate, like these ******* trade gurus keep coming up with, for 500 points value a trade down 2 spots!
Because who GWS think is the best player in the draft might not be the same as who we think is the best. If we have someone at 1 on our board who we think will be there at three, then it makes complete sense to maximise the value of that pick

I wouldn't be shocked if we are gunning for something like this:

1. JHF to Port for pick 2, future 1st and steak knives. It's up to Port to satisfy WCE with a suitable package to get pick 2.

2. Pick 1 to GWS for pick 3, pick 12 and pick 19. Use of later 3rd or 4th rnd picks to balance as they see fit.

3. Pick 19 to Sts for Clark. Its a valuable pick being the first live pick on night 2 of draft. Probably about 5 picks later than Sts would want, probably about 5 picks earlier than we would want to give. Feels like a compromise for both.

Pick 1 for 3, 12 and a future second

JHF for pick 2 and F1

That's about the minimum and probably where it ends up if the trade goes ahead. How the other clubs make it happen is not our problem

12 for Clark

I can live with that
Last year we knocked back pick 4 and 2 future F1 picks for Pick 1.
3,12 and a F2 is too light on.

Make it hard for GWS. Remember WE have what THEY seem to really want. Let's test it. Tell them give us 3 & your F1 for our pick 1 (possibly add in our F3). I think GWS will struggle next year so you'd assume this would net us 2 top 5 picks next year in a strong draft (on top of Ports F1 as I suggested as part of the JHF deal). If they say no then we walk away nothing lost. None of this 500 point net gain crap.

Has Dodoro secretly gone to work for Port this season? They are running a significant risk of completely ****ing up this trade period after having sold a lot of hope to their fans. From what I can see unless they put two meaningful players into the mix their whole house of cards will come tumbling down and they may end up only with Asava as a consolation prize.

If Port does get serious it could look something like this:

Port sends Pick 8, F1, and Georgiadis to WCE in return for Pick 2, Rioli, and F2.

Port then sends Pick 2, Sinn, and the WCE F2 to North in return for JHF.

If North is absolutely set on taking Cadman, then we keep pick 1. I understand that GWS is very keen on Cadman and wants pick 1 for that reason. Pick 2 would have vastly less value to them if we take Cadman at 1. If we are okay with GWS taking Cadman then it is a no brainer to trade 1 for 3 and 12. Maybe we could include an F2 pick in the mix and ask for 18 or 19 as well.

If Clarko is determined to chase Clark, and he has shown a preference for chasing mature players over the draft in the past, then pick 12 probably goes to the Saints. Might need some other pick swaps to get done.

If all that happens we end up with Logue, Tucker, and Clark coming in as established players all in a sweet spot age-wise for us. we go to the draft and take picks 2, 3, and 19 and still have enough points for Cooper Harvey to match a bid when it comes.

That would be a solid result give the hand we were dealt.

I think that the way that it has happened, after 1 year and as the number 1 pick, I don't see it changing. I think his step-father has a fair bit or control in the situation. Just my opinion.

He has also shown that he lets these feelings alter his play. Thats okay, he is young. But he will still be young in 12 months. I don't expect this to change overnight.

Clarko might turn him around. If it was either keep him or give him away for a late pick then I'd give him a chance.

However, a big factor in this for me is that I rate Sheezel as a talent and as a personality. He seems quality. Silky smooth operator like Pendles and with elite endurance. I also rate Tsatas.

I would just turn the page and start again now, rather than in 12 months.
By the sounds of it the only thing his fill in old man will be controlling is the $3.2 million the kid is getting.

He’s probably picked out his new speed boat and top of the range Izuzu D-Max to tow it with already.

You wouldn’t trust Papa Fabs as far as you could kick him..
