The acurate one

I think I made a post about the Hateful 8 a while ago, but this is the *ed fifteen. I still have a hope for Bonars and maybe a Clarko-inspired Polec, but the rest are either going or gone already some actually, some just don’t know it yet.

Mahony
Turner
Ziebell
Walker
Polec
Hall
Lazarro
Atu
Bonar
Greenwood
Young
WalkerP
Spicer
Hayden
McGuinness
Yep about on the money with that lot. I think it is referred to as a cluster of shitmen.
JZ I love but he’s cooked unfortunately, wasn’t a shitmen but has been acting like one.
I’m mad for Bonars, not holding my breath anymore though.

Perez would need to get cracking real quick and yeah Polec may surprise us under KKK Clarkson.

Oh well

You can't advocate for player movement but then also not want players to go to good sides.
There is nothing wrong with player movement, it’s the fact that this good sides get these players for nothing more than part of their salary cap and a list spot.

If the club taking the FA was forced to use draft points for the acquisition then we can start talking about equalisation.

I don't think resources are the issue, as we would have the cap space and the draft capital if we managed to land Bowes. Biggest issues would be Clarko's immediate future being uncertain, and being able to fit Bowes into our midfield rotations.
F2 for Logue leaves only one F2 for either Clark or Bowes. Not sure how it gets done?

Bowes + 7 for f2
Logue and tucker for f2
Clarke and some sort of change for 7

The main concern here is that’s about 2.4mil in salary a year with those four players coming in.

Do you expect anything less? They seem to be able to get new free agents on big coin every year while retaining their stars. Clearly taking success over pay.
LOL!

You must be naive if you think these blokes aren’t being paid good money.

The difference is the salary that Geelong lodges with the AFL is only part of the true salary.

People must be naive if they think these players that are at the top of their games are happy to be paid $300k while a 20 gamer in Bruhn potentially walks in in on a $400k plus salary.

Oh well I got carried away over the wrong thing.
I thought bowes = bus
I did mean Bus... Ill confess, I was a little confused with my impression he was a key Def

The main thing here is that’s about 2.4mil in salary a year with those four players coming in but ala Gee we have done a deal with the Vic Gov to develop large parcels of land to ensure we can pay players well under the salary cap and yet they can still get the money they want.

Since Souup is busy giving his recommendations to the recruiting team viney, roos_fanatic08 do you think the Bus could be capable of being a switch or transitioning to a forward?

As in Jedd Busslinger?

I think the way he reads the play and attacks the contest is far more valuable playing behind the ball. He has that innate ability and elite positioning that allows him to zone off and be third man up. The majority of his contested marks are taken in that sort of scenario. He isn’t a big physical contested pack mark.

I think he could play forward, but as to what level it’s really hard to know, as he had very limited exposed form.

We got it. Bowes' will vanish in 2 years

Corr was given a 5 year deal, 2 have passed, it would have been frontloaded.
Polec train wreck has one year to go, part of it would have been frontloaded.
Stephenson is chronically overpaid, Collingwood had him on $600k until 2023 and we converted it to $2.5m over 5 years according to C7, I assume we brought some of 2024/5 into 2021/2 but if we took all of his contract on we would have $600k last couple of years against the TPP so I think it should go down next few years.

I am pretty sure we could do it without breaking into a sweat. I think there is also the expectation that with the new broadcasting rights deal and the hopeful end of covid we could see a bit of a jump in player payments for the next collective bargaining agreement.
