I actually think Markov is a decent quality afl player, would add speed which we need, always seemed to expose us when we played against them with his speed IMO. I think he’s one who’d be easily passed over when teams get better as the guys who rely only on speed do.

I don't mind the DFA landscape. We wont actually sign any of them to DFA's, they'll be rookied as Viney/Brady confirmed.

If we can sign four of Crowden, Stack, Wallis, Markov, Stocker, Howe, Langdon, Blakely, etc. it would at the very least improve our training standards (bar Stack) and improve our VFL program.

There is two DFA periods. One for the main list ends 10th of November. The one for the rookie list starts the day after. We could sign one before the draft.

If you're going for DFA's, better to go for youngsters with some potential left. i.e. Stocker (mostly fitness issues), Collier-Dawkins, etc. If you are real desperate for needs for 12-24 months, then you go needs, but it's never been a viable long-term solution to needs areas.

My understanding is DFA period 1 is for main list
DFA period 2 is for rookie list which is what we would be trying to fill.
We have until the 15th.
Then it opens again on the 29th for more rookie list action.
Time is not a concern IMO.

I'd never heard of Jack Magin before, not sure if that's how you spell his name and I've never seen him play but just heard him speak on SEN and he sounds exactly the type of person we should be taking with one of the 2 additional rookie spots we had. He spoke about working hard as a VFL player to be ready at all times if you get an opportunity. Professionalism, finding ways to be a part of the team and supporting the team when you're not playing, leadership and making the most of opportunities.
