Many reports saying 850k x 2 with one saying 500 plus (whatever plus means). Whispers from the club that it would cost the club 2 mill for Bowes ( as per Master Strokeman who posted he rang the club so I am taking his post in good faith).

500k is chump change and I know that the club think Bowes is a decent player. Reading between the lines the 850k scared off the club looking at future committments and the SC going forward.

All speculation however until we hear from Gallagher tomorrow on SEN we really don't have the full picture.
Jon Ralph was the one who said 500k plus on Monday night but then clarified he got it wrong yesterday and it was the 850k.

Gags and Lethers have been there for 4 and 5 years respectively now, wouldn't listen to anything that they say. They don't have the runs on the board and have delivered us a playing list no better than when they took over.

At least you knew where Finnis stood, all about culture and respect to people and that is what he delivered.
The playing list IS better than when they took over, thats why the second half of the season was as disappointed as I have ever been in a season and that's saying something.

So who are you going to listen to? Gallagher goes on tomorrow and says Hunter Clark won't be traded, will you then believe some nuffie who says his sisters hairdresser is Clarks aunties best friend and he said he was leaving?

Didn’t we supposedly knock this on the head via Ralph and the couch. Hence Rooey cracking the shits.
Maybe Gags reads Bigfooty and has decided to go with the prevailing knowledge on here; or

we have offloaded Hill or:

GC may have approached us during the Ben Long discussions or;

And this is the most probable

I on here and everyone in the football industry are speculating and have NFI

Would be interested, got a bit of peter Wright about him; tall, can pinch hit some ruck work, decent kick for goal and starved of opportunity. If Melbourne do him a solid after bringing in Brown and not really playing him much and let him go below market price I would buy. If they want a first round pick for him or something similar I'd say no.

Seen the departures from our list for next year?

Theres a few spots to replace with new/unproven faces.

A lot of reporting suggested Bowes was keen on Geelong and that he would nominate them. I was surprised by this because I can’t see him getting a game there. Geelong also have a lot of other deals they are trying to get done.

Our interest in Bowes is probably linked to whether we land De Goey as a free agent. It seems very unlikely we can do both, but until it is confirmed that De Goey will leave Collingwood (or not) then it is only logical that we remain interested in Bowes.

If De Goey comes to us then we lose interest in Bowes. If De Goey stays at Collingwood then our interest in Bowes grows.

The report makes sense. But it’s not revealing.

No, I don’t think we did.

There’s far too much speculation and guessing on this forum.

“Saints aren’t chasing Bowes” says Jon Ralph. Roo loses it. According to some posters the club must’ve worded up Ralph, or Roo who then worded up Ralph. Why? If the club wanted to hose down fan expectations they could’ve just said so directly via an interview or statement.

Unless someone in power at the club actually says it, or they issue a media release, I’m not believing any of it. And so far the club is remaining very quiet.

So with Bowes, who knows? [emoji1745]

It's very silly that trade radio starts a full week before trade week itself. I don't see why trade week can't start on the Monday after the GF.
The GF teams probably need a bit of time to sort players who would have been "up in the air" until after the GF was done. But yeah, its annoying.
