I like your reasoning, but is Bytel a bit same-samey as Steele/Crouch/Ross.
Gresh adds a real point of difference to the midfield. Maybe Hunter Clark can free Gresham to the forward line?

Last year the players averaging the most clearances were Crouch ( 5.86 ), Steele ( 5.22 ), Hannebery ( 5), and Gresham (4.11).
Hunter sometimes can rack a few up, but I think Bytel , given the opportunity has potential to win it as much as Crouch does.
Bytel has only played 9 games with full time on ground. He averaged 3.7 clearances. If his clearance count was low, his tackle count was high.
Bytel is not an undamaging player , much better kick than Dunstan ever was, and could relieve Crouch and Steele when they bench, and maybe allow steel to slip forward a bit, which he does well.

Hunter, will depend what he does with his fitness, but he might be better as an inside/outside Seb Ross type.

If there was something going down with Clark, pick swaps/ whatever someone would have leaked it by now

of course we were but the fact remains Owens could have been taken by 7 other clubs, and Windy by ALL other clubs. So it is on the other clubs and it was very good recruiting to make sure we had the points to get them.

If people are going to piss and moan about Alison (fair enough, seems a poor choice) then they can't dismiss Naz, Windy, and Owens if they are going to critisise the recruiting. it sound churlish and infantile.

The only chatter about the Saints is from early this morning and all talk is that Hunter ( and Hill) are staying.

If there was anything even remotely valid to change that, we'd know about it. Every other potential trade is being talked about.

If there was anything even remotely valid to change that, we'd know about it. Every other potential trade is being talked about.

I think you mistook where I’m going with this.

This mornings Ralph update was clear to not say it’s a dead deal.

The Lucas tweet I posted was about showing that the majority of deals get done late on the last day.
