I reckon jack Bowes would be a bit silly to go to Geelong if they get all these players in. He couldn’t get a game at Gold Coast. Best bet honesty would be us. Not just saying that. But of all the teams into him we have the worst midfield depth. That’s where he wants to play

This thread is THE highlight of any Saints supporters year, it's what keeps us going. In it, De Goey, Grundy, Dunkley, pick 7 and pick 12 are all coming to Saints....until they are not. The only players we are losing are the ones we don't want. Top 4 is almost guaranteed as our list is already very good and these top ups are just cream.

The Gold Coast Suns are seeking a “fair” draft pick in return for Jack Bowes as the club packages him up with Pick 7 in a rare combo to shed salary cap.
SEN’s Sam Edmund reported earlier this week Bowes is owed $850,000 next year alone on a heavily back-ended deal, with several clubs including Geelong, Essendon, Hawthorn and Brisbane circling the 24-year old.

Geelong have surprisingly few mids especially with Selwood going and Danger slowing. Bruhn and Bowes would probably get a game easier there. We have a large number of good but not brilliant mids that are too good to leave out but don't get it done.
Pick 20-30 seems fair to me.
They’re desperate to get him off their books, and they’re desperate to retain the likes of Anderson, King and Rowell.
They’ve been public about it, and clubs aren’t obliged to cough up something fair to assist them.
This really should be a bend over the barrel type of trade.

The Collingwood crew on here seem convinced that if Jordy picks us and they match the bid that we’ll trade for him.
Just as convinced as the Adelaide crew were that we’d trade for Crouch.
In this instance it’s even less likely that Collingwood will match, as they’d then be running the real risk of him staying with them, but under the terms of our contract, rather than theirs. And I don’t see how their board would allow that, if they’re hell-bent on having their clauses in there.

Problem is that there are clubs lined up around the block to do a deal, so Gold Coast aren’t obliged to trade him to a club who are offering stuff-all.
It won’t be stuff all, but the moment Bowes nominates a single club their bargaining power goes out the window.
All this stuff would be getting spoken about behind the scenes, between the clubs, and also between the clubs and the managers. He won’t nominate a club that haven’t been speaking to Gold Coast about what sort of deal will be required here.

They rarely trade against a players wishes though. If Geelong want him they won't get anything back. They have so many deal to get done they won't have a pick available in the first couple of rounds for years.
