Clark trade won't happen North are not going to have a pick between 10 and 20, they will have 2&3 this year and their Future 1st and Ports Future 1st next year. Only one that makes sense is Ports Future 1st anyone prepared to take a punt on Port having another shocker?

If they were planning to grab Clark they would be trying to set up a pick to do that and they are not. They would also have committed to Clark that they would make it happen and they have not. My read is he is low on their list of priorities was a nice idea if they could get him cheap but he is not worth a high draft pick to them.

Haynes was one of my favourite players in his prime, I am a bit shocked that he is 30 already. I really haven't watched GWS at all recently they are not a good watch unless Toby is having a day out. So not sure if Haynes is shot or not. However I suspect GWS are unlikely to be offering Haynes and 15 anyway as we have seen with Bowes these deals take time. The player has to agree and come to terms with his new club, if this was a genuine option it would already be underway.

Whitfield is just too much money for way too long would limit us for years

Still good grist for the mill to keep the thread alive but I suspect there is not much more action to come
Saints have been into Haynes for a few years now and almost got the trade done a while back. I suspect he is happy to move to stkilda.

Weideman off too the dons
Thank God Lol GIF by HBO Max

Battle can be a gun key forward.

I believe he will at some point in his career. Hope it's with us.

We have to build a premiership squad.

It's time to think about life post Membery.
Whilst l agree with gearing towards life after Membery l don't think it's good idea in the short term to mess Battle around any more, and the passing of the years will see to it in roughly the right time frame.
King will be our star and having the likes of Battle, Coops and Hayes to choose from isn't that bad a place to be in a couple of years.
But like l said, no need to rush that one.

Yes we are sitting on our hands......as has been stated numerous ******* times, it was elite FREE AGENTS or go to the DRAFT

Weiderman is neither elite or a ******* free agent....

So thankful we don’t have Weid. Just another GOP to add to the list and weak as p.

Seeing a article that says Clark has request a move to Nrth - if true there is no reason we can't pull one of there picks they get for Horne.
I would stay away from picking up a aging defender we really don't need , I rather get something good for Clark who wants out and attempt to jag a good kid in the draft.
Haynes would be all about the pick

31 next year and after this season producing his worst stats for 8 yrs I can't see him getting back to his best when he is in the twlight of his career - is he worth the first round pick that is meant to come with him / maybe.
We carried Hanerbery on list for years on big money and not playing.

Not sure why we didn’t have a better go at Weideman if a future third is going to get it done. Suppose it’s not our choice where he chooses at the end of the day.

Wonder if Harrison Jones wonders where he fits in amongst Wright & Weideman.

Whatever happens next year I feel Scott will get the best out of them - he had Nth playing finals with a very average side.

You guys just literally spent a page shitting on Eric Hipwood and are now pissy about missing out on Sam Weideman? Lol

You never know.

GWS have publicly come out and said “we want pick 1”
They desperately want a forward and have their eye focused on the best forward in the draft, Cadman.
If they don’t trade up to pick 1, WC will pick him as they need a forward after the retirement of Kennedy.

IMO
GWS 3, 15, 19 to North 1.
Leaves GWS: 1, 12, 18, 44, 61, 63, 79

Saints trade: 32 + F3rd
GWS: Haynes + 12 + 44, 61, 63, 79
Leaves GWS 1, 18, 32,

Saints Trade:
Membrey + 12 + 47 + 61 + 63 + 79
ESS 4 + F3
That gives the bombers a key forward they need, plus the points required for Alwyn Davey (F/S)
Leaves ESS: 12, 22, 42, 47, 61, 62, 63, 79

Saints Trade: Clark + 44
North 15

Saints: 4, 9, 15, 28, 85.

Read the other day Alwyn Davey has not told the Bombers he wants to be a F/S selection.

Does anyone think that we might be waiting to see if the bulldogs give Schache another contract depending on Lobb. If not he would fit their free hit strategy?
Jeez, feeding off the scraps of a team that made a first round finals exit isn't exactly selling hope to the members is it, would prefer we give Hayes and Sharman an opportunity before Schache.

I don't even want Schache for depth, if King, Sharman and Hayes are all injured we could still chuck Battle up forward, bring in Campbell and have Marshall rest up forward and we'd still have Membrey.

Weiderman made some sense if he could chop out in the ruck, Schache would just be a list clogger.

Most teams will be looking what players are dropped after trade time and see who is available for nothing.
A fair bit to play out yet.

We've had 4 players retire, delisted 2 others and traded Ben Long (that's without new contracts for Byrnes, Bytel and Leinert) so we certainly won't be filling all those gaps at draft time.

Some lesser names will no doubt join us - so get ready for some melts!!!

But if we aren't trading our picks, we can't get anything but lesser names. Only way it can be done is through FA. We tried to get the best FA available but was not to be. I suppose through the PSD but that hardly ever happens. DFA only get a lesser name like Wood, a good player but not a top player.

It shows rank stupidity to melt because we didn't trade for a marquee player and at the same time melt because we aren't drafting high end quality youngsters.
