Nah not mid-season, he was signed in March so a couple of weeks before the start of the season. Had been training with the club since December though.

The afl.com.au article says "Bytel is the last player to sign on the Saints' list, with the club delisting former pre-season Supplemental Selection Period signing Jarrod Lienert." so I guess they were signed at some point.

Perhaps a bit of an insight as to why he wasnt getting picked and not offered a contract until so late?
Sounds like the perfect case for a certain someone rumoured to be our next coach...

I reckon Franky Evans has a lot of talent. The other smells just found their groove this year. But sounds like he’s headed To SA.

That's an excellent pick up. I've known a few who were like that, total white line fever on match day but softer at training not wanting to hurt their mates hahaha. Fair enough too, they packed a punch!

I reckon he needs to improve his tank

He struggles to get any footy on the outside which is a bit if a killer in the modern game

Id be curious to know what our definition of a 'good' trainer was and how that stacks up against the standards at other clubs.
If there's improvement to be had on the track, its exciting to consider what improvement that might bear on field.
If all pans out as suggested, we may well know come round 1 next year...

I think he was until they landed Rioli, but seems like they’ve cooled on him now

I saw it different. I thought it was a public message that if he can't get it together and play regular senior football he'll be delisted.
