Don’t worry re the defender thing as he can play anywhere and likely will

Bit like peoples original thoughts on Will Day and even Dawson

I see him doing his best work as a half-forward rather than a defender. Outstanding mark of the ball and a decent kick for goal, has no problem hitting the scoreboard from 50m plus.

Leake does have the athleticism and high level footy brain Day had/has

We turn a player with his skill set into a mid and we’re laughing, still more of a risk than a Wilson type though IMO

I don’t see any risks as long as we are picking the best players

Interestingly Kinnear Beatson said today that they’ve looked at when clubs have picked for needs early in drafts they’ve often missed the obvious star players including himself at times

Oh I think Leake ends up quality either way, just talking about midfield potential, Wilson having more proven form and exposure in that regard

Re the second point: Gallucci and McAsey the two standouts for us, in that regard. Think we are past such a time now, though, seem to be hitting on a number of natural footballers

Oh boy, don’t mind Collard at all. Cody weightman MK2

AND if leake DID become a quality mid in time..it will put him even more front and centre for stealing by the new tasmanian franchise

He'll be a target anyway for the Tassie Franchise .....fair compensation ....we're dreaming

Tis why if wilson is there..you don't take leake if you are us
Leake will be a great player .....but will be 22 / 23 when poached by Tassie .....only just producing

Yep, Caleb Windsor 1st , then Wilson .....looks like Windsor will be top 10, and we'll miss out on him

ADELAIDE

Current picks: 10, 14, 20

Adelaide could move further up the draft board on Monday night with GWS’ pick 7, Geelong’s pick 8 and Essendon’s pick 9 likely to be in its sights, depending on what happens with early selections. The Crows have shown interest in athletic Tasmanian utility James Leake and Murray Bushrangers tall Connor O’Sullivan, both who may not get past that trio of selections. Classy midfielder Caleb Windsor and explosive runner Darcy Wilson are two others Adelaide is likely to consider at its first call. At the next pick, athletic South Australian ruckman Taylor Goad is firming, given the club’s need for its future No. 1 big man and the growing interest around the top-20. The Crows could also be a chance to bid on Hawthorn father-son Will McCabe and have been linked with another Tasmanian in booming left-footer, Arie Schoenmaker.

I can see Windsor getting through to mid teens

Leake is a big chance to go to melb at pick 8 IMO

Jeff, you're the only one thinking this ....you're just not seeing Windsors talent

Happy to bookmark it that I think Leake , O’Sullivan and likely Wilson go before Windsor

Windsor is very good at what he does but still a slight concern that it’s all outside the contest , he’s classy and speedy . I’m tipping he becomes a half back / wing at AFL level and is a good player

I rate Windsor just think the others are better picks , I have Windsor mid teens +
