Lance Collard....Weightman's one wood is his overhead marking and goal sense, not blinding speed and agility which are Collard's best attributes.

I’m really concerned by Collard’s consistency, the raw talent is obviously there though

Ceiling is huge, but I feel there’s a much bigger chance he hits his floor, hasn’t shown enough week-in-week-out production for me to be confident in that regard

I have him around 30-40

Yep can see this point of view but also think that’s the life of a small forward and at least he has the top end traits covered

Kozzy Pickett was a very low possession 18 yo was rare that he cracked 10 in champs but there was always a moment or 2 and some consistently elite defensive work as a small forward

That’s the problem, I didn’t see anything that was really impressive from Collard in the champs (ie up against the best 18yo footballers in the country), for mine

His WAFL colts finals were obviously top notch, but that’s not necessarily against a bunch of high-level talents. At least he’s shown some form of going up a notch when the pressure arrives in this case, at least

What odds if Jack Callinan doesn't get drafted he finds his way to the Crows SANFL side? Of course that's if the Roos don't take him as a NGA Academy player. Personally I'd love to give Lachie Charleson a crack but that's not happening with list spots at a premium with us.

I would guess the only way we'd be allowed to sign him would be under the SANFL Rookie Program.

A SANFL rookie program will also be introduced next season, allowing the two clubs to select one 19 or 20-year-old player, which must be chosen in their League team each week, immediately after AFL-listed players and marquee player

Although Toby Murray is listed as being 20, so maybe that's how we're signing him?

Definitely sounds like a trade up is on the cards. I'm a bit concerned that we might need a future pick to strengthen the trade hand. Are we really going to trade 14, 20 and a future pick? Seems a lot.

Sounds like the plan is two picks if we can make the trade on the night. If not we will use the 3 picks as is. Interesting that he mentions that we can't trade back in to take a 4th pick, even if we wanted to, because of list restrictions.

I suspect he thinks the Sloane extension was as dumb as the rest of us.

certainly doesn't sound like we are sitting tight with the 3 picks we have and interesting about bringing in future picks..they must have a player very highly rated above our pick 10 they are going to try for reading between the lines

There was discussion around Essendon's pick and what a trade might look like (from essendon fans and one of their podcast nuffies) - 14 + 20 + Melbourne F2 for 9 + 35.

If we are also after GWS pick, that might be a heavier price 10 + 20 maybe?

But its all guesswork - only a few nights to go and we will know for sure.
