Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Also in regards to Dee's 6+11+ FF , we hand over our pick four plus a second. But get to still keep our Future first. Then, how about we cobble pick six plus our future first for north pick two or three? Doable? Or am I really high on sedatives I been taking for my busted shoulder?

yeah, the sedatives are working. They have no reason to trade back.

ok, i'm drunk, but....

6, 11 and FF in our hand allows us to get back in at Pick 8 with Geelong, for 11 and Dees FF.

6 and 8, McCabe and hold our future first is pretty enticing.

I like it, but would the Dees?

4 for 6 and 11 is fair value which is why we shouldn't go for it - need to be getting serious value for giving up this pick. 4, F2 for 6, 11, F1 would get it done but I don't think Melbourne would be comfortable with that given our future second is linked to Collingwood.

Interesting times. Personal preference is just take the pick.

Melbourne were desperate last year and offered 3 1sts to Essendon to trade up and select Humphrey who looks a star, that they are so keen to do the same for Watson speaks volumes of what a player they think he'll become.

The value is there but agree with you that we should just stick with 4 and select Watson.

A potential scenario:

Pick 4, F2 to Melbourne for 6, 11, F1.
Pick 11 + F1 to Geelong for 8 & F2.

Pick 1 (WCE): Reid
Pick 2 (GC matched bid): Walter
Pick 3 (NM): McKercher
Pick 4 (NM): Duursma
Pick 5 (Melb): Watson
Pick 6 (WB): Sanders
Pick 7 (Haw): Daniel Curtin
Pick 8 (GC matched bid): Read
Pick 9 (GWS): O’Sullivan
Pick 10 (Haw): Nate Caddy
Pick 18 (Haw): William McCabe
Pick 50 (Haw): Calsher Dear
SPP: Ethan Phillips

Relies on Melbourne overpaying and the Dogs taking Sanders.

Correct. They know how good he'll be.

The F1 would be thought around getting Smith via a trade next year.
Absolutely building 2024 draft capital likely has little to do with the actual draft. Smith or someone else forward we have our eyes on or if we do it well and add in 2025 we could end up with enough first rounders for both!

IF both Curtin and Caddy are there then yes but... .

In that scenario, West Coast would be offering F1 plus extras for pick 7. But the bolded ones would be a great haul for us.

Largely agree with 2 caveats
Expect gws take caddy but that’s fine we get osullivan
We would need to not take one of wingard or stephens back as we only have 4 open list spots

Does that come with lube? Moving up 3 spots to trade a top 6 pick for something in the mid 20's is crazy talk.
