If we were able to trade up to GC's pick 6 (and McKercher were off the table), I'd be happy to take Nick Watson if available. Don't care about the height. He's a natural forward, crumber and goal kicker, he's a great kick, he's quick and he applies pressure. He could easily play a high half forward and part time midfield role sooner than later. Naughts, Jamarra, Darcy, Weightman and Watson and any resting mid/defensive specialist would be a complete forward line.

Not awful then enough to at least make it a chance
Cripps had a late growth spurt though so didn't just monster kids as a junior, he legitimately beat them.

Sometimes the bigger kids get used to an advantage they just won't have at AFL level. It's not about the best kids sometimes, it's the kids who have the most transferable AFL traits e.g. Andrew Hooper averaged more disposals at u18 level than Bontempelli.

For every Shannon Hurn, there are 5 Will Goulds. See Charlie Constable.

Look at someone like McKercher. He's so highly rated because he can win the hardball but spread well on transition, and finish. Attributes that bode well for an AFL career.

I think I’d rather Lual to Croft

Diesel Moloney is my favourite. Probably a rookie or late pick but has the defensive side whilst also being capable offensively.

Can you imagine a kid named Diesel at any club but ours? Imagine Melbourne fans trying to yell DEEEEEZ over their cheese boards.

Please go to Essendon.

The 'Johnny Diesel and the Injectors' references would be worth it

The Lions pick is right in the Croft range. Lual appears to be a 40+ player, which is lucky for us.

I expect we will have pick ~10 and can take a decent mid but not Wilson, Sanders or Watson [emoji20]

With Street getting enough attention, he should bring in an early second rounder as a ready to go Ruckman who is best player at VFL in his role (usually their value, sometimes more). That pick combined with the Lions pick, may get us a bit higher in the draft and before Croft. Something like 16+24 gets us 10 plus some late change. That could get us O’Sullivan or Murphy.

Draft Haul:
Pick ~10 Mid
Pick ~10 KPD
Croft (Match)
Lual (match)

There are also a few potential small forwards and defenders who may be available late.

The more I watch Hugo Garcia the more I like. Spent time inside mid the last few week after playing wing and high half forward. Has the perfect mix of speed grunt and a touch of class, if we can't get high enough to pick up Watson I'd love to add Garcia.

No chance in my opinion we get an early 2nd rounder for an out of contract Sweet.

Preuss went for #31 and that was overs. Darcy Fort went for a future 3rd plus downgrade from #41 to #50. Frampton (not really a ruck) was a future 3rd. Max Lynch was essentially an upgrade from future 4th to future 3rd.

Sounds like North are going to try and get special dispensation to draft a couple high end NGAs such as Sanders. Similar to what GC got.
He isn't even in their NGA system yet. They're first trying to get him tied to them, and then also get concessions to get him for free. Can anyone say entitled.

I really hate the idea of priority picks, but if they’re going down the route of an assistance package, this is at least more reasonable than straight up giving them an early pick. Bit rough on the Saints who have just missed out on Mackenzie though
