Just not a catch and shoot player. He wants to create his own shot off the step back or crossover. He doesn’t have to.
Ingles is fine as 6th man. Reath should start instead of Kay.
Patty doesn’t know how to adapt to catch and shoot style Goorj wants him to play next to Giddey.

We were intending to use him - he was in the starting 5 at the beginning of the tournament - but he is badly out of form. Giving away silly fouls, can’t hit his jump shot. Need him to turn it around if we’re going to get anywhere

just watched first half of first quarter from last night on way to work.
Reath gets two blocks on basically the first two Japanese possessions plus two shots right at the rim for 4 points. So glad we didn’t play him in the fourth quarter against Germany…

Should be throwing all types of looks at Luka. As someone mentioned , Dyson , Green and Tisse should all be options for him. Goorj needs to be on the ball and switching it up if foul trouble or not getting it done.
Id love to see Dyson get some minutes , more so when Patty is on rather than Josh. Then run Green & Giddey together.
Kays been a great servant for boomers . He isnt up to it this time around , amount of times he gets dragged to the 3 pt line on the switch and looks like he is on ice trying to get back to cover

Win's a win I guess but not ideal to be 27 up on Japan and only win by 20 while conceding 35 in a quarter in a tournament where points differential could be a factor. Should beat Georgia but can't see them getting over Slovenia in this form, Luka might get a 40 point triple double.

He's a big on the permiter, it's not really a surprise, and not unique to him.
The issue is that in the past we've had a big center at the rim to step up when penetration does occur (helped by no defensive three second rule). Not having that hurts, as our switchy, quick, wings could fly around all over the place picking up the offensive center if he trys to stretch the floor.
Still shaking my head that we didn't try Duop at all in the fourth quarter against Germany when Schroder was penetrating at will.
