It’ll be Neale and Ratugolea if Stanley doesn’t come up.

Unfortunately with Rhys - i think the injury concern is the groin - not the hip

Dangerfield kicks the opening goal of last qtr - he comes back to the centre - and Rhys is their and you will see the vision - saw that last night watching a replay of the last qtr - on the AFL site

So if Stanley misses, it'll be Neale in the ruck with someone else helping out. Hawkins likely back and rucking in the forward line helps, but we can't use SDK because Max King would demolish us if we did that. Likely Sav then. Or if he can't be spared from defense given St Kilda's numerous talls, we'll have to go with an undersized fill-in a la Jack Henry. But since he's out too that basically means Mitch Knevitt, which at least gives us an extra midfielder at stoppages. Or do we pull a desperation move and throw Phoenix Foster in there?

Just throw Gryan Miers in there and shark the taps

Luckily saints second ruck is mitch owens so its only marshall that worries us.

No foster.

If ceglars fit it has to be him if not has to be neale with sav or ollie as backup. Hawk f50 rucking.

I think we will jab stanley up and put him out there if we can.

Honestly even if Ceglar is fit I would rather take Neale, Esava and SDK into the match and rotate them heavily on Marshall and work him over. Ceglar is cooked and a gigantic liability.

Sdk cant ruck bc he will be needed for max king.

I've given him some leeway after having his face broken, but we really need him to get back to his '22 form now.
It doesn't help that we select defenders at the expense of midfielders.

Who are these midfielders who deserve to be picked? Of potential midfielders Knevitt is the only one who can even think he's been unlucky based on performance. And even he was at best playing his role at AFL level and doesn't have the body to play on the inside yet.

Menegola is struggling to get around the field in the VFL, Parfitt has been horrible, Dempsey was given chances and struggled and doesn't have the body strength to play midfield at AFL level. We've left out Bews who is a defender in favour of Bowes and O'Connor who are both more attacking options.

If anything we could've picked Bews and pushed O'Connor, Bowes and Tuohy further up the ground instead of playing a horribly out of form Parfitt but that doesn't really fit with this narrative that we select defenders over midfielders.

Parfitt looked OK when he came on against Port. He should have started this week. Knevitt should also be playing with O'connor out.

I'd argue that Tuohy really hasn't performed at the level you want to see from a veteran, and that there'd more benefit to playing a youngster like Knevitt instead

Wait is this not an opportunity to play Conway ? ! ! ! !
Rolled his ankle a week or so ago which is why he missed this past VFL match

We may decide to throw him in the deep end, but we'd need to be prepared that he may only have half a match at this level currently in him

If it was anywhere but Marvel, I'd be sorely tempted to give him a run even if it was for a half. But don't think they've played it so carefully with him all year just to throw him in at the last minute and off the back of (even mild) injury.
