Yeah, this frustrates me as well.

Hamill I understand, considering he's contracted. Borlase didn't need any kind of promise.

You'd have to assume that they're confident that Borlase will be ahead of every player that goes undrafted in terms of their talent order. If that's not the case, then they're putting being nice ahead of compiling the best list with available resources.

Isn’t 3D chess, Just chess?

Normally chess you can move forward, back and sideways but not up or down - so you play in two dimensions. 3d you can move up and down as well.

Actually I do play Chess and only came across/heard this "3D version" of it, from the The Big Bang Theory TV show.

Mind you I could only play 2-3 minute games of chess, dont have the temperament to play games that go for hours.

I did play once a game for 3hrs, I wanted to shoot myself at the end.

In his youth, he had trajectory similar to Rozee IMO.

When he was sent to the Hawks, I was a little surprised we didnt make a play for him.

Too much natural talent .....lauded too early in his career ....just never had the work effort

Wingards non PS efforts are legendary

Wingard is injured at the moment having done his Achilles in round 22.

I dare say Hawthorn knowing he's out for the majority of next year wouldn't be totally upset over losing him and Wingard's interest in the Pies may be because they guaranteed him a contract for 2025. Pies are probably in a position to offer that, whereas the Hawks would probably find it difficult to guarantee that with him not having much of a chance to prove himself next year.

Nope trade down pick 20 and bring in a future pick and pick up Will Dawson with the pick downgrade. Dawson is just about the youngest player in this draft and once he has the body to match his aggressive attack on the contest...watch out. That's of course if we don't happen to take O'Sullivan with our 1st.

This (younger) Dawson sounds like he has a lot of upside. But the problem we have is we need another Ruck to develop.
In your mind, is this Dawson kid better than another year of us not taking a good/developing ruck?

I thought Schulz was more likely replacing Taylor Adams on a HFF, without the occasional foray into the midfield.

Listening to Justin Reid on the Sensible Crow podcast I doubt a developing pure ruckman is front of mind at this time.

Will Dawson btw has played some ruck for the Gippy Power relieving Lachlan Smith at times and goes alright too.

It appears they are happy to go with O'Brien/Strachan with back up from Thilthorpe/Himmelberg in 2024.

Keep in mind that interview was when we were still trying to trade up.
That looks like its not happening now.

Unless we've compared him to our draft board and decided that he's better than anyone falling outside the top 60 selections in this draft (but clearly not better than what's likely in the top 25ish).

Entirely possible and I certainly can't profess to know what's going on in regards to their draft boards. I just hope the croms are open to the possibility if it happens

i kind of think Goad is too good opportunity not to take as a young local at 206cm with endless upside and athleticism

I'd love to take him at 20

and 2 of O'sullivan, Wilson, Leake, Graham , Tholstrup before that (O'sullivan won't get thru unless we trade up)
