What about Bailey Laurie for McAdam? He is a quick midfielder and good kick. Yes he's not the big body mid we need but was a high draft pick not given a lot of opportunities and we need to improve that area of our squad.
We need to get someone with class for a player of McAdams ability.
laurie is soft as butter it is a no for me

I note with interest that Kingsley uses a Psych on his players each week, and has partially attributed his away-game success to that.
Perhaps, we should do likewise? I hope that Pyke hasn't soured us too much in that regard.
Given success at the top level & particularly in finals is more mental than talent, I'm all for it... so long as a real one & not a mate of Birdbrain or Roo.

I was highly in favour of this after 2017, but not the camp, per se. Pyke had the right idea.

I wonder if Brisbane would take pick 9 for McCluggage as a pre-agent, instead of pick 17/18 as a free agent?
No need for a future first really, if he wants to leave its still a better deal.

Yep, just poor execution allowing Birdbrain to hire a charlatan.

No chance in hell.

Watched the doco on Quarterbacks on Netflix and Kirk Cousins was shown utilising one a few times.

I thought it was good to see.

Guessing he is smashing the visits this week

I think it would be actual first rd picks not simply the top 20
I'm only quoting what was in the media ....top 20 picks ...no mention of first round picks

Alot of our players use a psych regularly if not weekly , not sure if there are any full group sesssions

There would be a sign in the psychs office in Big Big Letters

We’ve spent 2, 5, 6 & 10 on our forward line, how would it be possible for us to spend “ALL” our capital in the midfield?

2 Thilthorpe - should play 50:50 mid and forward
5 Rankine - forward with flashes in the midfield
6 Rachele - should be a mid with flashes forward
11 Pedlar - mid mid mid
12 Fog - forward (edit - added him on)

That’s a pretty good start.

I’m saying what we have done looks good - we haven’t neglected the rest of the field.

Melbourne have no forwards.
Paer have no backs.

I was posting against this idea that people on here preach, that it’s the midfield or bust.

Still a hefty price for just 1 year of a player.
The other side of that coin is you are getting in ahead of the competition. Paying a premium to secure a blue chip midfielder today or risk getting outbid next year when he is a free agent and everyone can have a crack at him. The market for him this year is small compated to him next year ooc

10 was my guess at where Fog was drafted.

Nobody is actually waiting for the FA period next year to have their crack though, it’s happening all the time. But I do accept that locking in now eliminates the risk of missing out later. You just have to weigh up what you’re prepared to spend against the inherent risk. Which I think is minimal, players seem to pick a club from a fair way out and end up there.

So on one dude of the coin you’re foregoing a full career of a bloke you’d select at 9. On the other side, you eliminate being outbid and get 1 specific year extra from them.

Out of interest, do we have many examples of high end players moving 1 year prior to FA?

I think you are forgetting that giving Brisbane another year to convince him to stay isn't a good idea, nor is assuming the draft pick will turn out into a star. In the real world you've gotta give some to get some and I fear you are trying to have it all a la some sim management game.

There will also be a lot more competition from other clubs in his free agency year
