WTF??? I officially now have no idea what the SSP rules are regarding long term injury replacements... must be a pretty serious fracture to keep him out the entire season...

I agree with this in part. We have depth, and should be utilising players already on our list. However, there is no harm in adding someone via SSP, at least for VFL depth. I'm probably more in the camp of a younger player who shows potential and just missed out in the draft.

He had been there training for a month, if a spot opened up, you'd think he was always going to prefer the Pies. Another LTI at the Pies sealed the deal.

Unusually, I fully agree with you. Might even be easier to hold till mid year when you can see some players in action. Might be plenty who build a body of work throughout the year who wouldn't be on the radar vurrently.

Still on the VFL list so must be training with us. Looked great back end of last year but plays a role we have plenty of depth in.

I see equal merit in giving a 1 yr contract to a mature age ruckman to take zac williams spot, as a running hbf. If Pitto gets injured, puts a lot of pressure on TDK and Mirkov is another season away

It might be the right decision for 2023, if it delivers an uninterrupted return, and fills a vacancy in our side.

I think it's more luck and circumstances than 'well played' i think..

Pies took a Ruck with their last spot, Markov took next best option after training there for a month, which was us.

Pies lose another player to LTI, (luck) a spot opens up for Markov who would have already built rapport with players/coaches etc (circumstances) and naturally goes back there.

It makes perfect sense.

Ok, looks like Dean is on the Inactive list for 2023, so rules are as you stated previously. He's not on the LTI.
