There is aggressive and then overreacting

Pitto out of contract, worth little, Flynn is a free hit RFA.

TDK OOC, reduces our leverage and has more upside than Pitto who has reached his ceiling

Trading is more about timing
Please appreciate your automatic position is to do nothing and enjoy the ride as if carlton will just calibrate toward success. Tdk is a 2nd ruck, with currency, a position that is replaceable. It may not be TDK but my firm view is carlton need to trade out a few and draft the ball movement/speed, you crave. The current group can not win a flag and is closer to its ceiling than most realise. Remember our discussion a few weeks ago where we were arguing whether we are 10 good players short. Well, Carlton is closer to10 good players short of a premiership than 2 or 3.

Want me to appreciate my own position but you can read my mind as to what I think success looks like

So anyone then, without considering our current needs, nor the best time to extract value?

I remember you making a claim mid way through a game, which we eventually won, that you thought we were closer to a spoon, than finals

Or, after a Sydney practice match this year, we would lose our first 2 games

I don't need to be so extreme along the same axis, nor will I just dance if I don't hear music

...ha ha. I didn't mean all at once, I just meant , no one is untouchable, except for charlie and sam.

That’s still a big overreaction…add to Charlie and Doc at least Walsh, Harry, Cripps, Weiters, Cerra, Motlop, Hollands, Durds, Young and Cowan.

We’re hardly discarding blokes who have come across in the last couple years and under contract (Acres, Hewett or Saad), and Lemney and Binns are just starting.

Kemp certainly he looks like he can be a player, he just needs a chance which will hopefully happen in the next couple of weeks.

But we do need to make calls on around 15-20 blokes in the next 12 month which is a lot and concerning given we’ve been rebuilding for 9 years.

At this stage, I wouldn't exactly put the last 5 on your list as untouchables. There's a good argument for Doc, Harry, Cripps, Weiters, Charlie, and Walsh. I would even add Saad to that group.

Whilst we have a lot of slower paced players, I don’t think it’s as big of an issue as many are making it out to be. Players being well drilled, backing in their skills to take the game on and a team having confidence in each other makes up for a lack of pace. We made a real mess of our season in the back end of last year and I didn’t think lack of pace was a factor.

What I see as a real issue is our key defensive stocks and our reliance on players who can’t stay on the park, we really missed Gov on Thursday and we didn’t have a like for like replacement we could depend on. It was very good to see Durdin and Kemp have good outings in the VFL but our lack of tall options down back is our biggest concern imo.

On this, I have always thought a Weitering is wasted playing primarily as a lockdown defender, I would love to see him play with a bit more freedom. I’m sure there would be some defenders we could target via trade or free agency that could rectify our defensive depth.

You know the reasons why, until it changes, it won't change

Kemp is building, but needs to get his head on a swivel more to impact the play, rather than just his opponent

Dow continues to get the pill, but jogs defensively, Binns and Cincotta have better workrate and team ethos

Even a limited Fog is disciplined
There are parts of Binns game I absolutely love. He holds his position defensively and then makes a smart decision to leave it better than anyone on the list. Not sure if you noticed him doing it last night but it was supreme.

He knows where the ball is going almost as well as Walsh does.

He lacks a step though and his kicking is Ed Curnow like. I hope he can clean that up. If he can he’s a 200 gamer.

It’s amazing what one bad loss does.

Good isn’t it.
Puts a spotlight on the treacle like speed of our list, they’re appalling footskills and low footy IQ .
Also highlighted how many players who could make a difference can’t string 4 games together for years.

People lose their ****ing minds. Time to trade everyone!

Though to be fair, some in here didn’t have those minds to begin with.

Funny who we see pop up after a loss. Wonder where they’ve been over the first month of the season. 🤔

Smart disciplined player. His kicking will improve and will be much better than Ed

Why does it matter where they have been and where they were during the first month? Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even those differing from yours.

I personally think we should target Schultz from Freo as a UFA. 25yo, Works well up the ground which allows Motlop to have a like for like player to rotate at HFF. Work rate is great, quick, goal sense, averaging nearly 2 goals a game so far @69.2% goal kicking efficiency, averages 15-16 touches at game @78%. He’s also from Vic, so would be another chip to use to lure him back.

Really turned his game around the last 2 seasons and like his tenacity I50.

People find it interesting, that many supporters are more expressive after a loss, compared to a win, and or haven't posted for the first 4 games, but do so after a loss

Any thought on that?

My thought is it’s strange you give a *. Or even notice. But hey, each to his own.

Do you remember that supporter sitting directly behind you, screaming, complaining we were only 3 goals up rather than 10.

Do you remember that same supporter sacking everyone a week later after a loss

Then not a word after consecutive wins

Rinse, repeat

To be honest, again, no. I just watch the game. I notice them during the game if they annoy me. I don’t recall fans from one week to the next. People get emotional. Whatever. Where does one draw the line? Giving a shit at all is illogical. I don’t know any players. Don’t have a role at the club. Give them money for some reason. I outsource my happiness for 3 hours a week to somehting I have no control over. Irrational. I chat with people via text on here who I will never know. Odd. But whatever. Elon reckons we are all in a simulator anyway so who gives a shit.
