Position 2023 Midfielders

Is there anyone that ISN'T picking Hopper? I found it suited my structure better to run with Tom Green at M6. Gives me a 13 keeper side + Yeo. I've barely seen a team without him... Is it suicide to swim against the tide on this one? It's purely structural reasons rather than thinking it's a good or bad selection.
I haven't had any of Taranto, Green or Hopper in my side at all. Don't think it will change either.

I don’t have Hopper in my side currently. That could change pending this weekends games

I don't have Hopper. Similar reasoning. If he outscores my M6 I'll live with it. I don't think he will though

Piggy has Essendon round 5 at the Adelaide Oval. He's going to be $800k after that game.

You are allowed to pick him too you know :moustache:

Let me guess, you're going for a "value" pick like Steele?

He's currently M2
I'll be ok when he gets a mid 90 against the Bombers in Adelaide ;)
edit: Oliver at M2 that is

If Titch comes out this weekend has 30 and scores 110-120 what will people do?

Left my side after the weekend but could be swayed again.
I'll be delighted as it will suck folk into picking him.

Start with Oliver & Laird, don’t fall behind IMO.
I think this oversimplifies it a bit.

For instance say it's Allen and Brayshaw vs Oliver and Greene.

You could make a pretty strong case that the JS and ceiling of Allen accounts for the difference between Oliver and Brayshaw.

That's just an example, there's others all over the field - e.g. Oliver and Grundy vs Brayshaw and Witts.

I am hoping Titch scores 150+ this week

So you don't rate him or have a strong Midfield?

I don't not rate him.

I've possibly even brought him in since I wrote that lol.

If I did, then it's at M7

Yeah I'm looking at Hopper M6 and it looks like it's batting a bit too deep with Midfield premo's so you you must have a gun Midfield with him at M7

I get your point, but very hard to take the two clearest high scorers by waiting 5-7 rounds. They also provide great captain options, so you may miss out on that also. Sacrifice elsewhere IMO.

Nah. You’ve got it the wrong way around guys. Want him to get 50 this week so nobody trades him in. Like to see him just loitering near the play not really getting involved same as last week. Then from round one with regular 100+ scores. Has never left my team. :)

IF I do, then M6 is also a midpricer. Not saying who.

Gone skinny in defence (GOAT at D1) and more midpricers at F3-4.

It's hilarious, I was only saying a couple of weeks ago that I had been cured of my MPM proclivities, now I have 6 midpricers and 3 of them are PODdy as all flark lol.

And it's led to me taking on Ashcroft. Which will surely backfire

How confident would you be slapping the C on Andy B?

Oliver is one of the best VC/C options, does that not change the equation?

I think Ashcroft is a must have purely for safety because he is in 75% of teams and just in case he does pull out a couple of 90+ scores early but if he dosen't then you can have any rookie you want with spending money.

He's a keeper for 200k

If he does, then I can turn one of my midpricers and a shit rook (even my floating donut) into him and the other best rook regardless of their starting price

Will Lyon whack a tag on Brayshaw? His last 3 against the saints is pretty impressive

Probably be more a VC option early days and I'd be slapping the C on Bont or Macrae most weeks early days regardless so I'm not too worried by it.

Even with Oliver, Neale, Miller, Mills, Gawn, and Steele in my team early on last year I made the wrong decision most weeks anyway, so I'm not going to bother worrying about captain options this year until I have to.

Sometimes you have to play defence in SC, I have Little Nicky in my team for similar reasons.
