Do you think Schoenmakers will be off the board by then?

I do find it a little interesting that you say this about McKercher but not Philactides, who has similar flaws.
Well I’m not discussing Philactides as a top 5 pick am I

I’m discussing him as one of our teens picks

Which adds to my point why I wouldn’t go near Kerch with a top 5 pick

Hey souup what’s your opinion of picking up Tew Jiath at one of our later picks?
watching highlights he certainly looks the goods and finding out he basically topped the kicking efficiency stats throughout the carnival, makes me sit up and take notice, he’d be a slow burn but 18m into the system he could end up looking like Goater, same size shape. A real weapon running of hb.

I can’t work out the logic with a large majority of WCE supporters and this pick 1 ‘conundrum ‘ which I pretty much blame the WA Media for (or WA Medusa more like it).

Since the eagles finished last it’s like Reid has become some sort of superhuman, constantly pumped up as the messiah by the WA media to the point a pick swap of only 2&3 for pick 1 became a thing..

I understand the WA Chardonnay’s are used to decent success and the times they’ve been at the bottom of the ladder they ended up with Judd & Nic Nat, so their expectations are quite high, but those expectations are not realistic.

Yes Reid is a sensational footballer for his age but there are still question marks on his tank and the potential flight risk, so he’s not an ironclad pick 1 for them.

(Assumed pick 2) McKercher is an electric midfielder who accumulates at will and at pick 3 Duursma has been the absolute freak in all the big games leading into the draft.

So on what planet does a swap of Reid for McKercher & Duursma sound like the eagles have the whip hand?.. other than the WA Media brainwashing the eagles fans with false hope.

If Reid somehow ends up in Perth the pressure on him to be a superstar from day 1 will be mind blowing.

He’s not Chris Judd, he’s not Nic Nat, who both had elite physical attributes to make them have an instant impact at AFL level. They both came into pretty handy teams too, this time their first pick is walking into a pile of steaming poo.

We’ve seen first hand with LDU that the power players take a few years to get up to AFL speed and when they do it’s great to watch, but the WA media have conditioned the Eagles supporters to think Harley is going to walk in and win them a flag.

No wonder the kid doesn’t want to go there - who the heck would?..

Are you suggesting WC hasn't sent Terry here specifically?
To conduct pre-negotiations with North Bigfooty’s finest minds? Sure.

If these ranking are anything to go by its slim pickings at 15 pushed out to 18 or 19

I could see us picking Collard at one of those late picks should we still hold them. Reward greater than the risk and if any "go home" factor is true then you handle it with your later picks. He would have a good support structure at least and it seems Hansen Jr is a good recent example for bringing these kids into the system thus far.

Agree on all counts. But you're actually understating the delusion their echo chamber's caused.

They think 2 AND 3 is unders.

They're leaning more towards:
2 and 3 and our F1
2 and 3 and two of 15, 17, 18
2 and 3 and one of 15, 17, 18

To be fair, there's one voice of reason over there, declaring it's 2 or 3. Not both.

Schoenmaker, Edwards, Hastie, Jiath, Lual, Freijah, Green, Roberts, Dawson, Archer Reid and Zakostelsky would still be on the board if the draft went like image. Options for rucks, half-backs, wingers and even a tall forward. I don't think we'll be disappointed on the night.

We'll just wait 3 years for the disappointment to be apparent.

West Coast are trying to find a way of picking McKersher but not lose face with their supporters.

If they keep pick #1 and dont pick Reid there will be an uproar so if they can save face by trading it out for pick#2 and something else from North they then will have a wayout of saving facing and getting McKersher who they really want...Unless North pick Mckersher first...

l'm thinking North will get pick #1 and WC #2

NM: Reid
WC: Mckersher
NM: Duurmsa/Sanders/ Curtin or Watson..

Good to hear we’ve started our new nga academy in Wyndham area

Who are some of the last talents from that area that have been draft that would have qualified nga/multicultural?

I’m assuming it’s none of late so we’ll need to buck the trend there

A lot can change in 12 months. This time last year Ashton Moir was projected as a potential top 3 pick.
Hasn't he dropped!!! From top 3 to what, almost in the 30's or 40's?

To be fair, there are a lot a great young U17 midfielders...if you watched the futures game...not many 195+ KPP!!
