Jones-Richards
Stewart-Daicos
Bruhn-Phillipou

Gives me 13 premos.

Who is the better prospect of Phillipou and Pedlar WaynesWorld19 ?
I'm biased in saying Pedlar .....but my rationale is young rookies fade quickly with AFL after a few games .....Pedlar is into his 3rd PS and when all other Crows couldn't run on the weekend, he was still running strong

IMO, the mature Rookie over the 1st year player .....I also chose Bytel over Phillipou for the same reasoning

Thanks mate. I also have Bytel and a very happy owner. If he didn't give away all those free kicks he would have got a great score.

Almost a bit annoying that Jones looks set to play because him being injured made the decision simple.
I've got him and Cunnington, I'd be inclined to hold but I don't want to be behind on rookie/other mid corrections if they both bomb again, with surely 3 of Greene, Chesser, Cowan, Baker, Hopper and Flanders needing a correction next week.

Can't pretend to be some sort of Fyfe whisperer, fwiw:
He was unclean by hand and foot, kicking in particular poor
Delivery wasn't silver service, but he didn't cover the ground well, couldn't maintain separation a couple of times, allowed the defender to get a hand in
Got shrugged off pretty easily when trying to pressure, zero chase
Longmuir has shown that he is prepared to leave him forward fulltime, even when they are getting beaten / need a spark in the middle in a tight game.
The last part is the important part for me, the rest you can chalk up to a bad day.
Can he go better Rd 2/3? Absolutely, expect him to.
Big question is what comes after that?
Fyfe was never a keeper

But, I have to admit Freo’s draw was the deciding factor

I’m 50/50 on trading him atm

will depend on if jones gets up

think i want to correct benched rookies this week and wait another on the midpricers. i doubt either bruhn or hopper come good based on weekend game but gotta back them in i suppose

currently thinking:
Goater --> Phillipou / Bytel / Phillips (lean phillipou)
Chesser --> Chandler (swing davey to midfield)

If jones does not get up i will wait on Goater and go Jones --> Stocker

phillipou should be a servicable field option if bruhn does not come good and i can flick hopper + bruhn to a daicos + rookie using dpp next week if they both flop

im worried about constable's job security off the back of a pretty poor performance (actual game - scoring was decent). having him at d6 is a bit anxiety inducing but think we will cross that bridge when we come to it

i thought people expecting him to go big against saints were engaging in wishful thinking - their backline has been pretty good for the last few seasons and ross knows how to make a defensive system hum. surprised longmuir didnt try get him used in play further up the ground though, was pretty much always the player closest to freos goals

if fyfe scores poorly against north you would have to be worried if you are an owner

Yeah. 'cause St Kilda is sooooooooooooo much better than North and West Coast.

Face Palm GIF

5.5 times better in 2022

Not worried - there will be no Fyfe owners left if that occurred!

Yepp, but 445K isnt much value as a punt. Rampe might be though. He flew under the radar a bit in that $330K Yeo/Clark type price range during pre season. We know he can go 85-90+...possible perma D6 if u think he can go 85avge. Plays every game and will at least get one of those unreliable rooks off the field down back that can cost 50-60 pts instantly each week. Somewhat chasing last weeks points but worth a peek.

It’s absolutely chasing last weeks points.

Even if he were to finish the season averaging 85, that would only be a 81.9 average from now as you’ve missed his 150.

Last year round 1 Parker went 167, Rowell went 157, Dangerfield 155, Houston 144, McDonald 140, M.Kennedy 130.
That was their top scores for the year. All bar Houston and Rowell (presuming based off cash gen - I didn’t check tooserious) would have been poor trade ins. Parker a mere 100 from there, costing you a trade on a guy priced at 108 etc.

Who?

Actually, if he has Jelly in his team, don't really care who that is, but it's great for the rest of us. Hopefully he sucked in 100,000 coaches.
Jelly was a good pick @580k playing the role he is best suited to with the new coach, concussion is just unlucky.

Yes Pedlar looked very impressive.
Your signature might finally have one right ;)

Jones goes 80+ this week. It's the way the gods work. Hold fire and don't go point chasing.

Stewart is the only 1 that needs trading imo.
Dude! How is one supposed to rage trade when your all about bringing your calming sensible influence.

I've decided to boot Bruhn instead of Flanders this week.

The Cats have the Blues. They'll want to bounce back, so they'll look to their experienced mids. Bruhn will get limited CBAs again. When he does go in there, he'll get monstered by the Cripps and Hewett, get tired and spend half the game on the bench again.

Ned Flaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanders is up against the Dons. He could fluke a couple of goals and put up a decent score.

$146.4k in the bank for 3 trades next week. Whether that's more mid-price or rookie corrections remains to be seen.

I'm very tempted to grab Pedlar, Phillipou or Phillips as well, but I think I'll hold my nerve and wait.

Trade away my friend. We all know how the gods work though. Every year, same thing.

How do people feel about going early on JHF? Jesus Christ he looked like Dangerfield out there and pants the Lions boys. Watched him in preseason, role was good and wasn't overly impressed, bit better the second game just gave away the frees. Feel like I need to pull the trigger on making moves after the Jones and Laird C debacle, but it might be too early. Not sure on how consistent he can be but I see the 60% CBA role holding.

I'm also thinking of getting Daicos. I know the tags are coming but I watched him closely in preseason, game 2 was a write off due to Fin Mag but game one he got burnt so much and still looked great. He should have scored 170 this week, again he got burnt so much and he would have had a goal and a few assists if they gave him the ball while he was open. He shouldn't set foot in the midfield imo not strong enough yet. He's next level pig.

Another issue is Bruhn. Its stoppage or bust for him, no outside game at all. Right now imo he's their best stoppage player but he's on the bench a lot and Chris Scott loves to rotate him on the wing. They put him on the wing last 10 minutes of the practice game, just this time they did it much earlier in the 3rd quarter. Looked pretty gassed and started turning it over late. Parfitt coming on didn't do him any favours, but Bowes probably plays and gets some CBAs now. As good as Chris Scott was last year I thought he constantly played players out of position over the last decade (Dangerfield fwd in finals cost them many times) and I can see him being stubborn and playing the old heads more in the midfield while Bruhn just gets a bit of a go in there. He had 77% Tog in the praccy game so F knows whats going on. Just a minefield of red flags, prime midfield role and good TOG I reckon he does 90 easily but it doesn't seem the case, another week of data would be nice but there might be a bomb score if he goes wing again.

For now

Jones>Daicos
Kelly>Callaghan
Bruhn>JHF

Outs….. Liam Jones / Fyfe and Shitfield.

Ins ….. JHF / Gulden and McKenna

Has to be done and they were mistakes which injury helped force my hand to dumping them.

Fyfe just looked old/ cooked and banged up the poor bugger but he has had a tremendous career and is a champ of our game.

My issue with trading Bruhn is that I'm judging him on playing against a rampaging magpies team.

In saying that he certainly went missing for longggg periods of the game
We judged Bruhn on the preseason match, but the Cats' main midfield group weren't together in that match.

Danger 59% TOG
CGuthrie 67% TOG
Atkins 73% TOG
Blicavs DNP

Add all of them to the side and Bruhn is on the outer (literally on the outside, lining up on a wing)

He clearly doesn't have the tank for playing on-ball yet in the AFL.

Will he improve as the year goes? Yep.
Could he still average 85-90 and be an F6 keeper. Yep.
Do I have the time to wait when there are other great looking mid-price options? NOPE!
