If the club is hell bent on trading for GC pick 4 and snaring Sanders then we have no option but to go with the following scenario.

Pick 2 Mckercher.
Pick 3 Sanders (otherwise Hawks will Pounce).

Pick 5. One of Curtain, Dursma or Watson after Hawks make a choice between the above-mentioned. I'm hoping like hell Hawks take Curtain.

There is no way we allow the Hawks access to the best two midfielders.

Curtain is to big a risk to take at 2.
And we are not in a position to take risks after picking up Wardlaw last year who has injury concerns hanging over his head.

If the club thinks Chol works for us, then so be it. Is he the sort of bloke that you pick for the last day in Sept though?

There's a reason the Tigers were happy to let him go, and then the Suns don't play him in the AFL either.

Get chol and Gc pick 4

Give them our future first pps
The two future picks won't be enough for 4, let alone Chol.

Dogs are offering 10 + 17 this year.

19 and 20 next year doesn't get it.

We probably have to offer the three future picks to GC, or just use them to draft and trade this offseason.

I think it would be 14, 19 and PP F1. Match points this year with a future pick.

And we unofficially don't bid on their players.

Think we are a long way off the last day in sep... he will help us and larkey in particular get better as a starting pt... competed with lynch and Riewoldt at tiges, casboult king at suns.... will have larkey at north

For the unwashed and uneducated I'll just leave this next statement, which I also posted on the Bulldogs thread seeing they will be impacted most by the AFL decision.

The picks the AFL have given us ( North) is a sneaky way for the AFL to further assist GC.

Not only will gold coast have access to 3 gun academy players, they will now get a plethora of picks for this year and next year from North.

All the AFL had to do was give North pick 11 and allow Sanders to be bid by North.

North would have simply used pick 11 with no need to give GC numerous picks.

Bulldogs could have made a play for pick 4 and picked up a Watson or Dursma.

Everything the AFL does is by design and this is further assistance to gold coast by using North as the scapegoat.

Regards and goodnight.

I know im pretty alone on this, but if i were GC id take into account North might not bid one Walters with pick 2 or 3 should they deal with us. In fact if i were them id prefer to scratch our back.

14 and future 20 (which they can on trade or take 23's 19) gives them more than enough points. While let Walters slide saving them 600pts.

19 and 19 (1896pts) to GWS for 7 (1644) and Haynes

Take in 2,3, 5 and 7

That should net us 4 of Curtin, Watson, Sanders, McKercher, O'Sullivan

Its a nice idea, but I can't see them giving up a top ten pick to service a trade they don't have to make.

I don't think they can do much with points this year because they don't have any high ranked academy kids.

Honestly, I'd be happy enough getting Haynes and a future second from them for our 4th rounder, so long as that F2 procures us another solid role player.

Well... I think the reasoning around giving out the effective value of pick 2 but not compromising the order of the first round of the draft is entirely the right way to do all assistance packages moving forward (outside of tassie when it arrives).

Pushing out the second round by 1 or two picks just doesnt impact anywhere near as much as a pick 2 selection as assistance.
