Surely Essendon working with the Saints or vice versa re contract details for Gresham in regards to compensation is draft tampering? Every article I read seems to imply they are both working it out. I get we said we would match if our compo for McKay was less then Band one, but at least that’s not blatantly stating we are working together to get the best draft outcome.

we did do something similar with the saints before , actually twice with del santo and Car keys.

The arguments for:

... are all equally valid, it just depends how you value what we already have on the list, and how highly you rate Clarko/the club's ability to continue to recruit targets from other sides as we climb up the ladder. We've finally got the coaches, stability and development to get the most out of these guys.

It's been my belief the club wants Harley, that they see him as a force multiplier for the young group we've already established and a 'September player' as Clarko puts it, and I won't begrudge the club for spending multiple pics to secure him. It's not hard to imagine all of Brady's moves thus far have been to do just that.

I also think we're golden no matter what we do, Sonja and Co. have absolutely set us up for success.

This might have been mentioned before but do you think Brady and the lads are trying to engineer 1,2,3 heading into the draft?
Basically, pick the very best talent/players according to Clarko's needs then kickback and watch the shiteshow of live trading.

I wish we got some of the absurd positive spin from the AFL website that other clubs do.

Ridiculously misleading article stating the sun's turned pick 4 into 6 first round picks. Which isn't even close to accurate. Yet no mention of us bringing in two players and still bettering our top end picks.

Stuff like "the suns brought in a first rounder from North Melbourne", completely ignoring the fact they traded one out for it
