I think we are fine for KPD for now especially if comben goes back

Agree we need KPF and ruck
I’d be grabbing a mature dfa ruck
And drafting a key forward

No - just no. You don’t have a throw at the stumps with 5 picks inside the top 18. The other problem you have is - NOT ONE of them wanted to come to North. Hold those picks.

Yeah it can’t hurt to get more I’m just saying it’s less of a priority compared to KPF and small forward

Yeh Jordan sweet could have gone for our pick 57 if he nominated us
Went for pick 50

Soldo we could have got for a future second with maybe tigers throwing in a future 3rd if we assume we finish bottom 4 again it’s more than what they may have gotten

I think we may not have got a 4th ruck in because we may been keen on a young ruck in this draft like Green, Edwards or Goad. Pretty tough to solve all our list issues in one draft, it's going to take 2-3 drafts to correct the balance imo. If we can't get a look inside the top 10, I think upgrading 17/18 to Swans pick 12 with our future 2nd to target a Murphy/Wilson/Leake could be on the cards as well.

And if so what would we have to give?

Would Pick#2 and #3 plus our F1st get it done?

If it could be done, GC would be crazy to knock that back and we would be equally crazy to make that offer, unless Walter is guaranteed to be at least 20% better than Carey was at his peak.

my issue with brady is what he does with later picks including rookie and msd picks

luckily this year there's a good chance we have no late picks used and no rookie picks, so we keep it simple and choose elite talent only

If the Crows like who is there at 8 then they could easily offer 10 and either 14 or 20, maybe getting 25 back. That already trumps us.

Sydney or St Kilda could also offer a f1 with their pick and back themselves to improve next year.

Geelong would be stupid to trade it now just to get an extra pick. Someone will get desperate at some point if theiy hold their nerve.

Crows 14+20 trump our 17+18

Swans will offer more as they get nga players gifted to them and can take a risk

I think we would do 8+25+F3 for 15+17+18 but only if we had confirmed that we weren’t getting 1.

I’ve been saying this for awhile

We were the only club this year to not have a cat b rookie

You only need to look at soldo a cat b rookie traded for a future second last week

Need to take more free hits and see if we get value

That’s not right.
If duck was up for trade and I knew what he would be I would gladly trade 2/3/15/17/19 and next years 1/2nd pick. Wouldn’t blink.

I don't think that's possible. We'd have to bid on Walter at #2, have Gold Coast match, then trade picks 2 and 3 to them for him. But players can't be included in live trading, only pick swaps.

Like even if you're talking about an under the table deal, this can't be done. If you're talking about trading Picks 2 and 3 to them for nothing, and they agree not to match our bid... we can't make a bid because we gave up pick 2.

My guess on any activity now is:

2 + 17 + (maybe) F2 or F3 <> 1

15+18 <> 8

Leaves us with 1, 3, 8 + the later picks.

These are predictions not preferences. I can see the allure of Reid but would love to just go to the draft with our current hand.

Those 3 teens picks would be fascinating, the range where you get slightly more speculative players like JVR, English or Goater slipping into.

Prefer if we can do:
17+18+F3 for #8

2+15+F2 for #1

Or is it possible to do:
F2+F3 for Carl F1 - noting that they will need points for the Campo twins next year should both go top 10, maybe Ben Camporale going top 5?

2+15+57+Carl F1 for 1?

Leaves us:
#1 = H.Reid
#3 = N. Watson
#17 = M.Edwards
#18 = T.Jiath

I'd be happy to go with the 5x 1st rounders but l feel we need to walk out with at least 4x 1st rounders in this draft - l don't really like trading away future picks unless players gets squeezed out next year and we receive 2nd and 3rd rounders to replenish what we lost?

We have ONE pick after 18. Unless we are delisting more players we do not have room. We have 32 on the main list now and will likely have 5 picks plus a rookie. You just can’t magically produce picks if you don’t have room on your list.
