I don’t think we lose with either of those scenarios. Can absolutely acknowledge how powerful the 2/3/15/17/18 hand is and why a lot of people want to keep it, but adding Reid + Duursma/Curtin to the young brigade we already have is also just as exciting. We’ll have a great hand either way.

Bottom line is if the Eagles swap pick 1 with any other team than us they'll go from being able to choose the #1 player to selecting, at best, the #5 player (providing we keep 2 & 3).

It’s simply numbers.

You have five chances to select long term players, with two of them a high chance of being high quality.

With the other hand, you have a maximum of three opportunities, with two of them being a high chance of being quality.

Quality for me is anything inside the Top 10.

Yeah which is why I’m suggesting we potentially give up 2 and WC give up 23

If 15, 17 and 23 gets you pick 7 or 8 - so does 15, 17 and 18.

If we engineer a third top 10 pick - we use it.

We'd have 3 top 10 picks and the Eagles would have one.

Why would we give that unbelievable competitive advantage away to move up one spot in the draft?

As I mentioned yesterday, I’d be willing to bet a lot of money on that being our next and final offer. 2-15-17 for 1, if that doesn’t get it done I’d want us to move on and focus on the talent we are getting at 2&3.

I don’t see how this happens though with Leake and Windsor pushing up clubs draft boards. Twomey mentioned we packaged 2 of the teens picks and didn’t get any bites, I can’t see us getting another top 10 tbh.

Exactly. We arent given up 2 of the top 3.

We almost traded pick 3 in trade week with PPs that got us 2, 5, 6 or something. The deal fell over but I don't think you can say we aren't open to 6 and 11.

100% agree with this. Found the Harley gettable interview concerning with his preferred destination playing in front of massive crowds. Can’t blame him for wanting that of course, but you’d hope it’s been addressed in interviews.

Curtin also said he was looking forward to playing on the MCG. I have some bad news lol.
