we can only go by what has been reported so far which is 600k now that may change which is a terrible result, even if they are offering slightly more it doesnt really matter, we need them to be offering 750k

one way to force the right offer is to make a better offer

The point is the best play is not to sit around and wait for a decision and what offers come his way

It’s to set the marker and a 700k offer that needs to be beat/leveraged for a better deal

We've publicly said that if he wants out we will match unless it gets us band 1. Clubs know what type of offer they need to make to get him through Free Agency.

Arguing over giving him a 700k offer now is pointless because it just aint happening.

And a trade will have to happen if we match. He would have accepted an offer indicting he wants out and we match forcing said trade which gives us a s**t outcome as they won’t be offering their first

I’m not sure how often it needs to be said but matching get us the worst outcome as it will likely be a second rounder traded or he goes through the national draft and we get nothing

Surely it is on McKay's management and his potential new team. We have been perfectly clear on our expectations if he leaves.

If he accepts a low offer from another club that isn't prepared to trade a suitable first rounder, it will come as no surprise that his choices may end up as either playing for us on that lower wage or chancing his luck in the draft.

His management should be clear to any potential suitor, pay up in either $$$ or draft picks to make sure we allow it to go through or we aren't accepting your offer.

If he is going, us being clear and firm on our expectations is all we need to do.
