Even if we do end up drafting Watson, I’d still look at getting an mature afl small forward.
Our forward line would be a hell of a lot more balanced having RHJ, Watson and an AFL ready player roaming around the forward half of the ground.

RHJ?

I think we determine if he's an AFL footballer first before planning future sides around him.

He's nowhere near the best 22 with a fully fit list and some additions in the offseason imo.

Why not? Gold Coast did and we're worse then they were
Just looking at this from 2019 compared to the scraps we get makes me angry.

In my non-expert opinion, because the AFL have a history of being inconsistent, hypocritical pricks!

My guess is we will get a small amount of token assistance GF week, enough that we can't say we got nothing, but not even close to the recent precedent of the GC suggests it should be, which the media and the footy public will then all incorrectly link it to the predicted FA comp for McKay expected to be coming a couple of weeks later, bundling it all together and suggesting we are making out like bandits.

If, for whatever reason, we don't get band 1 for McKay, the narrative will be we only have ourselves to blame, that is already being set up with stories like the one today by Ralph in the HS, putting it on Clarko to beg and plead to bump McKay compo to band 1. Absolutely ridiculous that FA comp should be linked to assistance in anyway, but it already is, but they are already setting up to blame us rather than the AFL, if somehow we don't get it.

Gold Coast are their love child.

They'll also know what McKay is/isn't getting and if its in Band 1 territory, they'll be happy with that.

Sanders is the big win for us, especially if we get him free.

Like Kayne Turner or Jaidyn Stephenson?

I think with Ford in his 4th year, Curtis in his 3rd, CZ back and someone like Simpkin rotating through the forwards there's enough experience there.

North Melbourne (13): Aiden Bonar, Kallan Dawson, Blake Drury, Jacob Edwards, Todd Goldstein (unrestricted free agent), Dan Howe (unrestricted free agent), Jack Mahony, Ben McKay (restricted free agent), Flynn Perez, Liam Shiels (unrestricted free agent), Phoenix Spicer, Kayne Turner (unrestricted free agent), Lachie Young.

Ben Cunnington (despite being contracted for 2024), Jack Ziebell and Aaron Hall have all retired, while club great Goldstein and recycled ex-Hawks Shiels and Howe are still waiting to find out if they will score another deal. McKay’s future has dominated the headlines throughout the season, with Essendon, Sydney and Port Adelaide showing varied interest in the interceptor. Several of these Kangaroos are used to waiting until the depths of the season for a new contract, and luck might be about to run out for a few of them under coach Alastair Clarkson. However, ruckman Hamish Free has re-signed for next season.

Yes, that's what our experience with Robbie Tarrant teaches us.

Playing him back did nothing to get him back on the park playing regular footy after half his career injured as a forward lol.
Funny That. Tarrant the defender didn’t play at all this year. Amazing that. And before yah go mentioning age neither has his teammate Gibcus. And how about McGovern for West Coast? Strange how he has missed much of this season being a defender and that. And because Viney thinks this to be the case doesn’t actually make it to be the case. We all know that this is a 360 sport. It doesn’t matter where yah play. You can get injured anywhere out on the park. :stern look

Reason for Edit. It didn’t, I mean doesn’t matter. :stern look

That list isn't too exciting. Not a name on there that will get a game at another club. Maybe McKay if they are prepared to pay

How many blokes from Robbie Tarrant's draft did play a game this year ffs.

Yeah, the ‘package’ in the medi and with oppo fans will be our natural pick one/two, ports pick, FA compo, Sanders, and probably our own future first.
