* me you can't be serious. Please tell me you're ******* with us as some kind of twisted joke and NOT that you just simply cannot comprehend the basic concept of this deal.
You really are a weird fella. Go have a lie down would ya

Ok you're trolling. It's pretty late over there isn't it? Maybe get some shut-eye
My whole point is that we will not get a first round pick for Gresham, if you're stuck on semantics that's not my problem.

As I said, go have a lie down

Imagine comparing Shiel and Dow to 4 players who were delisted a day after the season ended.

You seriously believe Essendon are going to give us a first round pick for nothing [emoji23][emoji23]

Here is you telling us that Essendon aren't going to give us a first round pick, despite dozens of explanations of how the deal works, which don't involve Essendon giving us a pick, but simply paying Jade Gresham enough to trigger band one compensation.

It's an easy concept to grasp, but it seems to have eluded you - but I guess it is stupid o'clock over there.

It's the early evening here, good buddy. I'm in traffic. I won't be going to sleep for a little while yet, but you should right now.

I already told you what my point was because you seem obsessed with the semantics. Regardless, is it really that serious? You come across unhinged sometimes, it's fascinating to watch. Not to mention I wasn't even talking to you lmao

I'm up for the Liverpool game and you're boring me. Go and pick apart some other plonkers posts.

If we don’t get creative with the Gresham deal and end up getting band 2 compo that’s when you end up replacing him with a dud.
Feel way more relaxed replacing him with a band 1 compo pick.
If that means adopting Shiel for a bit I’m all in.

Its not so much adopting, but rather (insert one of) baby sitting / NDIS support / Home Care for a year and we receive a pick 13 payment

The contracts still to be signed are to be resigned at lower numbers, trade or delist. Cap space, willingness to trade players and creativity, are our key weapons this year. I am loving the approach so far

The North Melbourne Shinboners

Hunter Clark from the saints has been long linked with a move to Arden Street, an attempted trade was made last year but the saints were steadfast against trading him with a year to run on his contract, list boss Brady Rawlings spoke end of the trade period last year and mentioned north will attempt to lure him across this year again, still unsigned, Jon Ralph is the only news breaker to mention he may remain at the saints, so far no other news reporter has reported such news, leaving the door ajar for North Melbourne to swoop in

With Ben McKay looking likely to join either the bombers or hawks, the club will be actively scouting for key defender options, including Veteran defender Dougal Howard from the saints, the mature age defender has been put on the market by the saints despite being contracted, and will accept an offer if the right one comes along.

How about this?

Shiel comes for a couple of token picks

Gresh goes to Essendon for Band One
We get pick 13 compo

We sell that pick on to North with their lost love Hunter "LDU BFF" Clark and steak knives player or pick for their compo pick 3.

Does it work legally?

North are loading up on gun kids, and they still hold pick 2, but they need list balance - Clark could blossom under Clarkson and they get their second pick downgraded 10 spots. Hunter played 18 AFL games this year, hes entering his peak years and was a pick 7, all that talent is still there, he is ready to go and can play multiple positions. He contrasts nicely in a team loaded up with teenagers.

Works for us. We don't have any more time to waste on Hunter, our window is sooner than North's. We get Sanders or McKercher plus our original pick 12 for Wilson or O'Sullivan or whomever.
We tried to get 3 off them last year in the Clark deal

Doubt they'd have changed their mind now, especially when he's uncontracted

You are trading guys who have been in our best 10 players. Most are unlikely to get a player back as good. Howard cost us a fortune not long ago. Doesn’t give me much faith. All cost us first round picks too. Why is this hand in a s**t draft going to improve on that? It’s a gamble. Our immediate and future success is in the hands of these guys.
Oh come on Gringo.. based on this year’s output, apart from Howard who regularly played although on questionable form (his brain fades and lack of awareness is Harry Maguire esque:p), others have been injury hit or can’t break into the side.. how many years do you stick with a player before you say enough is enough? Billings (10 years), Clark, Coffield (6 years), yes we have not had much luck in the last 10 years, but that’s not the reason to base your future on hope, hope that Billings will become a superstar after 10 years in the system.

There arnt many more bonkers supporters than norf supporters.

I wouldn't mind getting 12 & 13 in this draft and then trading into next year with them. Pick up Dow, Henry, some real speculative later spuds with a bunch of late picks in this draft. Maybe we go backwards this year and get a decent 1st for next year's draft leaving us loaded with 1sts in a potentially better draft. 3 young mids in next year's draft and grab Ben King as a restricted free agent as well.

I don't think Bing hits RFA status that soon.

We don't need the cap relief next year. Plus overpaying for Gresham offsets that and then multiplies it for an extra two or three years.

And Hobbs was getting midfield minutes ahead of Shiel towards the end of the year anyway, if he stays Shiel will probably be mostly half forward next year anyway. So the scenario doesn't work if we're not getting pick 13 as part of the deal.
Jog on halfwit.

Hugo Ralphsmith, looking a chance to be a saint
Pretty ordinary player imo but he’s young and a good size maybe he has plenty of upside, I wonder what richmond supporters think of him as a player.

That‘s an impressive write up, ticks a lot of boxes.

What's the bet that Adrian Dodo changes the Shiel fee to a second round draft pick last minute lol

That actually is an ideal scenario for us! We simply pull out of any trade involving Shiel.

By that time we would have already been awarded the FA compo pick for Gresh.

Howard by himself could fetch pick 11 in this market.

Overpaying sure, but it's a free pick and there are hardly any defenders available

Probably not far off what we paid a few years ago for a much more fringe player. Until half way through this season people liked Howard. He's gone full whipping boy faster than any player we've ever had.
