We should keep an eye on Aaron Cadman. Lots of family and friends in Vic.
Offer Melican a four year deal. He won't refuse.
Get B.Smith in.
Imagine our side with just these three changes. We are so close.
B: Hardwick -Blanck - Sicily
HB: Impey - Melican - Mitchell
C: Weddle - Smith - Amon
HF: Moore - Chol - Ginnivan
FF: Watson - Lewis - Cadman
R: Meek - Day - Newcombe
IC: McKenzie - Scrimshaw - Worpel - Massimo
Madness.they could conceivably get pick 1 and 2 this year (zuurhar compo)...
...and pick 1 and 2 next year (LDU compo)
that would go with the 2 and 3 Wardlaw and Sheezel
and the 3 and 4 McKercher and Duursma
that would be 8 top 4 picks in 4 years
astonishing
Mitchy's more with the anti-inflammatories at the moment I'd reckonThe conversation around M Lewis is pointless
S Mitchell wants him
M Lewis is committed and wants to continue to be part of the future
Anything else said to the contrary is guessing or inflammatory

One word: MackayDo people genuinely believe Cam Zurhaar is going to net North pick 2? Not even the corrupt AFL can engineer that.
McKay is a very good KPD, Zurhaar is an average third tallOne word: Mackay
No, but AFL will 100% do it so they can save face by not giving them further priority picks.Do people genuinely believe Cam Zurhaar is going to net North pick 2? Not even the corrupt AFL can engineer that.
Saints are offering North their 2024 and 2025 first rounder to do the deal this year. North are keen, it’s up to LDU to agree.
Not even in the same conversation re value even when you spell his name correctly…One word: Mackay
. KPD worth a lot more than a medium forward.I'm becoming increasingly worried this is going to happen. That would be a devasting blow to our rebuild. We can't keep getting pushed down the draft order. No, but AFL will 100% do it so they can save face by not giving them further priority picks.

Id imagine he would add alot to a contending team. Could see any of Essendon, geelong, port, gc, collingwood and Melbourne shelling out enough coin to push him into round 1 compo pick territoryit's within the realms of possibility BUT it would need CZ to pull his finger out & increase his output this year.
he is fwd-mid power player. it's a buzz position with alot of value.
His salary that The Scum paid to get him over the line is easily band1 compo. With incentives he could easily earn a mill a season with them. One word: Mackay
Until they do. I dont think discreet is a "thing" for the AFL.Do people genuinely believe Cam Zurhaar is going to net North pick 2? Not even the corrupt AFL can engineer that.
What does it matter to Hawthorn. We need to focus on the things we can control such as luring free agents and optimising trades. Over to you RoughyUntil they do. I dont think discreet is a "thing" for the AFL.
They will roll out the memo to their media teams to normalise the decision and "hey presto" pick 2 is a fair thing.
I’m with Nelk, and seemingly Sam is too.
Maybe I am I just not as sold on a few as some on here which is fine, everyone sees these things differently.I’m with Nelk, and seemingly Sam is too.
We need a couple of key pillars for us lift a few levels.
I won’t be at all surprised if we find that some small additions have a big impact on the output of the side.
Battle/Melican into our side would see a direct benefit to Sic and Scrim, and allow us to move Weddle and/or CJ up the ground.
I’m pretty content with the middle of the ground and how that is building with Day, Newk and Frenchy, but some added zip from Baz would be ideal.
Lewis being fit is obviously the topic of the day, but if we can get another tall in next to him and Chol to bring the ball down to Ginni, Wiz and Moore we’ll really start to punish some sides.
We are not that far away from having very different side and output, but we’d have to land a couple of the players Nelk has mentioned, of course.
Yes, I was bullish on what we might be able to do this year, and if not for a couple of injuries… who knows we might have even had 3 wins by now(Bombers, Pies and Roos) if Day played from Round 1.Maybe I am I just not as sold on a few as some on here which is fine, everyone sees these things differently.
I do agree that simply addressing a few big holes could have a flow on effect for some that are being asked to play a different role. Simply getting Sicily back to his best would make us instantly a much better team. Just think we have more holes to fix before we are ready to make that sort of leap.
Meek is putting together a good patch but I’d like to see more before I am confident we have our long term rucks sorted. We currently have 0 key defenders on the list that I am very confident will be long term pillars for us (no shade to some of the young ones just need to see it first).
Guys like Ward, Mackenzie are developing and hopefully they can make a big jump but at the moment it is more glimpses and I am not sure they will be ready to shoulder enough of a load to drag the team close to the 8 in the time frame.
i was hoping this would be a year where we could really see signs of it all coming together even if it didn’t necessarily translate to a lot of wins yet and next year could be our break out year.
Currently I think we have more questions about a lot of the guys we were hoping would carry the next era of the football club.
Either way I agree that all the targets make sense and will make us better so fingers crossed we can use some of that cap to good effect.
If they get Pick 2 compo, then our pick 2 gets pushed back to Pick 3 and it's yet another year where our top picks gets pushed back due to "equalization". It clearly matters to Hawthorn. What does it matter to Hawthorn. We need to focus on the things we can control such as luring free agents and optimising trades. Over to you Roughy
I understand we offered a little more but he wanted to go to Essendon, his childhood team and saw them as offering him greater success. His salary that The Scum paid to get him over the line is easily band1 compo. With incentives he could easily earn a mill a season with them.
Our offer was structured to trigger band2 compo. Essendon upped their offer late.I understand we offered a little more but he wanted to go to Essendon, his childhood team and saw them as offering him greater success.
Not what I was told. Anyway, lets agree to disagree. Our offer was structured to trigger band2 compo. Essendon upped their offer late.
All rational thought goes out the window with the AFL, they can just make it up as they see fitHis salary that The Scum paid to get him over the line is easily band1 compo. With incentives he could easily earn a mill a season with them.
