What are your thoughts on Dempsey

JS and likely scoring range?

If it helps, the coaches love him. This is what Nigel Lappin said the other day:

“He’s just been someone who’s just got better with every week that he’s spent at the footy club. He’s built out a really good frame now to be able to sustain what it means to be an AFL Footballer. Unbelievably high work rate, gets from contest to contest, understands his role really well…just those little finishing touches, the things that he can do that not many others can, that’s going to excite fans for a long time…”

I'd put Dempsey in the same conversation as Clark - absolute locks to play a big chunk of the year. Probably first out for Rohan when he comes back, but reckon they'll ease him back through the VFL first, as he isn't even training yet. So should have plenty of time for cash gen.

As for scoring range, I'd put him in about 65-70. Have a three-week stretch of Hawks, Dogs and North through the byes as well. Scored a 93 in the Essendon praccy, so a spike score is certainly within his repertoire. Knows where the goals are too.

Personally think the byes are being overthought here. Analysis paralysis. Pick your favorite/best and spread to 1-2 players per bye round. Won’t hurt as much as you think long run.

Campbell for a late pick is great dpp coverage. Rowbottom might come good. McLean is purely break glass in case of ruck emergency.

But I understand what you mean. I'm more happy with my Heeney pick than anything.
