i am saying he hasn't played a game of senior footy yet, so talented as he may be, we're yet to see it at the highest level.

He may be amazing, he may struggle. Only time will tell. It's not a criticism of him, nor am I suggesting he won't make it.

How come you're reluctant to provide the other names? I've asked a few times now. I've agreed with Sheezel, and even if I conceded McKercher (given it's more likely than not he'll make it)...who are the others?

And what you have written has anything to do with my first post, how?

I clearly stated that it "may" not be as bad as it looks at the moment, because the top end talent is "potentially" elite.

At what point did I just skip to this is being an already elite backline like you are inferring?

The fact of the matter is we have drafted around 5 first round picks into our back stocks in the last 3 seasons, 2 of which are 2 of the best players in the country of the last 24 months.

Sheezel I think has already proven himself since he finished only marginally behind Sinclair as the most prolific half back of 2023.

You mean the post where you said "70% of it is chock full of top end talent." but are yet to expand on this, despite being asked a number of times?

Yeah, and I countered that having a good group of smaller running defenders won't do anything to stop tall forwards potentially having a field day against North in 2024.

Isn't that obvious?

I've not inferred anything of the sort. I've asked you to expand, which you've been strangely reluctant to do.

I dare say nobody is daft enough to think North's backline is already elite.

Does this make up the 70% you've claimed? Who are they?

Well yeah. I already said there's no argument with Sheezel. Did you miss that?

McKay and Curnow to both make the team
How often do 2 key forwards from the same team make AA?

I assume Hawkins and Cameron have pulled it off, but its got to be pretty hard when they are "competing" for goals. One of the pair is likely going to have to play like Hawkins and get a huge amount of goal assists feeding the other forward

It's only happened 4 times since the inception of the AA side in its current format (1991 - 2023) and only twice in the last 30 years.

2022 (Hawkins and Cameron)
2004 (Gehrig and Riewoldt)
1992 (Lockett and Loewe)
1991 (Lockett and Loewe)

One might argue that 1996 also counts (Carey and McKernan) but my recollection is that McKernan was playing predominantly in the ruck and around the ground (in the year he won the MVP).

Going the early crow on Heeney. Think he really puts it all together and dominates in the middle this year.

So possible but incredibly unlikely that Curnow and McKay both make the forward line - almost wondered in Buddy/Roughead went close in 2008 but then Roughhead didnt even make the squad

Highly reactive.

I bet you will change half the side after tonight's match.

Another year, another season of Moore getting his ass handed to him by any half decent KPF...

It will be ignored after an unaccountable 9 intercept mark game next week.
