* supporters already angry they didn’t pitch to Parker.

Can’t wait for them to come back in and reverse it just like they tried with Barr instead of landing Clarkson

It is already paying off!

One day a player will threaten to invoke workplace relations laws.... Fair Work Australia will eat the AFL for breakfast if it ever comes to that.
Surely there is something in the contracts about just being able to leave for another club.
Port is happy for him to move to Victoria, just don't play AFL haha 😆

The contracts can't over ride law though, in this case it's about restraint of trade.

Genuinely think Konstanty will be delisted?
still no contract offer and their list spots are tight

he will be told to wait til after trade period to sneak the last list spot or 2

we could easily get him and parker for pick 40

The reasonableness of AFL restraint of trade hasn't been properly considered or challenged before the courts. Would be an interesting case for sure.
The courts would most likely rule that when out of contract you can go anywhere (much like the bosman case in europe). When in contract that a different story. The contract is signed, there is no restraint of trade, you can't just wake up one morning and say, i am going to another club and just move.

The Adam Saad trade a few years back is almost a perfect comparison. He was a year younger but not in contract. Both elite half backs. He went for #8 with some change coming back.
The Dees offered their first for this year, pick five + first for next year then Dan was spooked by the Petracca stories.
I am sure Port will be reminding Dan of that offer

So how do we get him to come to us rather than going to another club?
parker and konstanty both with the same management group hemisphere (david trotter and co)

should be pretty easy to loop him into the deal for pick 40

The AFL know it should never be tested in a court of law where they would dump on any club that considered it.
