This is rubbish, Jackson was a dominant ruck who dragged WA to victory in the champs, raw my ass, he would've been number 1 ruck at Melb in his first year if not for Gawn, more ignorant rewriting of history, CDT is more a KPP potential who can ruck imo, I wouldn't be surprised if CDT ended up being a KPD like in his u16s high end performances or a KPF who can pinch hit ruck, whereas Jackson was always going to be a good ruck and trying to make him a forw to accommodate Gawn and Darcy was wasting his potential, no surprise when Melb let him ruck finally they won a flag with him dominating the finals series and derpy Gawn was put forw, now Freo are letting him ruck and hes doing great things there, no surprise...CDT might end up just a ruck, but he can play key position just as well imo, I don't think CDT is anywhere near as good as Jackson, he is skilful but isn't as dominating from what I've seen, Jackson deserved pick 2, CDT is good, but I don't know if he deserves top 3-5 status?

Seen some nuffies thinking that Jackson lost the Jamieson in colts when in reality Jackson cleaned the floor against him in their one Colts matchup in 2019. He was always a star ruckmen.

What’s the latest view on where Matt Whitlock would have gone if in this years draft? Top 10/15?

Around 15 but thats more a comment on how crap this draft is than anything good about Whitlock.

I swear I first read about Dogga on here in 2017 when he was playing in the U16's games.

Xavier Taylor joined Dylan Alexander and I last night on our live show to discuss his footy journey as well.

He is a mad Tigers fan too which I loved hearing!

Really good kid, competitive, and has the want / desire to be the best he can be.

Interview below

Even if CDT is basically a Luke Jackson clone, or even a slightly lesser facsimile, that is extremely valuable and well worth a top 2 pick. These types do not come along every draft.
Does everything the same as Jackson, except is only half as good in the ruck. In this case WCE may as well bid on Zac McCarthy early and sell off pick 2.
Ethan Read is probably the next closest thing. Super around the ground even if not dominant with actual rucking. Is keeping Walter out of a strong GC side as a KPF at the moment too.

I rate CDT very highly, a lot of that is his mobility and nascent midfielder chops at that size. As an Essendon fan I hope West Coast do share the apparent view among many Eagles fans that he's not worth the pick at 2 overall, but if they split that pick they'll still get some very good talent in and spread the risk over at least two players instead of eggs in the one basket approach.

There is lots of talk amongst supporters about clubs splitting high draft picks. Whether it be pick 2 for ... or the Tiges splitting pick 4 for ...

What would be interesting for mine is historically, how many clubs have split top 10 picks. Is that easy to pull together?

I can tell you one club that does it a lot

2022 & 2024

Yes but what I'm specifically referring to is where a club hands away a high end draft pick such as a pick 2 for two later picks. Or the talk that the Tiges will potentially swap pick 4 for 2 later first round picks.

I just don't see any historical references to clubs actually giving away top 10 picks that they enter the draft with.

Genuinely watching the draft has top picks don’t tend to get split on draft night. I don’t see why this draft would be different.
Always has been rumours though…
The big ones of note would be Adelaide trading up to 8 and 17 for 11 and 15 to GWS in that situation Giants didn’t want to take Curtain.
Bombers trading to 10 for 11 and 31 to Cats probably the overpay for me given how I rated Caddy and COS.
All that said I hear every year about elaborate trades but don’t see anything to dramatic happening. Hoping to be wrong because it makes a better night. Chaos is a ladder.
