Im going to go off Cals draft order and bid order. This is my draft on who I believe teams should go for.
1. WCE - Duursma
2. GCS - Ulwand
3. Carlton - Dean
4. WCE - Duff-Tytler
5. GCS - Patterson
6. Lions - Annable
7. Tigers - Robey
8. Tigers - Schubert
9. Scum - Cumming
10. Scum - Sharp
11. Melbourne - Taylor
12. Melbourne - Nairn
13. Scum - Dovaston
14. Hawthorn - Grlj, Farrow, Lindsay

Who do you pick?

For me personally, id take Farrow. Is a leftie, has the foot skills for AFL level, plays off the half back and will learn how to read the game and defend. I see him as a will day like player, 3cm shorter, will move into the midfield as his body matures and provides that flexibility that Mitchell seems to love.

Grjl is just a pure midfielder, who seems to never run out of energy on the field, escapes pressure with class and could be one of, if not the best pure midfielder in the draft. Plus don't forget he brings that special vibe about him like nick watson.

But if I'm being honest, if both were on the board at the same time, we can't lose, unless we pick neither. Or we trade up for both!

ESPN draft shows Schubert sliding and so we pick him at 28(22)

It shows GWS picking Greeves at 31(35) but as per Cal's X post Suns are taking that pick

I would dangle our F2 for Eagles 34 or GWS 35 and we have option of Greeves or NHH at this spot. Or if Schubert has not slid, pick one of them at 28(22) and then pick the other or Liam Hetherton at this spot before Pies come into picture

I'm getting pretty excited to tell you all the truth. The amount of speculation has been both insistent and comprehensive.
There's a range of players we could take with our first and I can see the positives in all of them, and trust our club to bring those positives out.
It's going to be an exciting night. Latest is that it's now highly unlikely we'll be shifting ten as they're convinced one of the three we want will be available. One of the three is the surprise we don't think will last till 22 and we may go for him early.
We honestly don't know which way the club is leaning because it's now a 'closed shop' and even my ex can't get any details.
We're convinced the list management team has decided but isn't leaking anything. The fact that the rest of the club doesn't really know speaks volumes if you ask me.
Like I say, going to be an exciting night.

Kind of feels like excluding bids it’s gonna be:
West coast - Duursma + CDT
Richmond - Cumming + Robey/Sharp
Bummers - Robey/Sharp + X.Taylor + Dovaston
Melbourne - Nairn + Farrow

Any chance we could trade into another pick in the teens to take this 'surprise'?

Sounds like there is no group think like the experts on here.

It may be someone we really like that is different to the general consensus.

Now, if we don't get the Griller in Manila, they ought to tear down Dingley. If we get him, put in another roundabout and have JK Snr pointing at the MM statue, with a quote, "you dooooooooooooooo man".

Credit to Giants fan Petrify for this.. Won't quote his post due to board rules.. will just copy paste

Summary of Twomey's phantom draft recap he did on Gettable

  • Easily the toughest draft Twomey's done. Partly because of the bid's, partly because of the two by two nature of the top 8 and also the fact it's a very even draft pool.
  • Duursma & CDT expect to be the Eagles two picks. Carlton's made their trades for the reason and the reason is the Eagles will bid on Dean at pick 3.
  • Richmond likely to bid before picking. Twomey reasonably confident on top 6 of his phantom draft.
  • Only club that can shake the top 6 is Essendon. Still think's they're a chance to try package up something and get to Richmond or Eagles picks. Doesn't think the Eagles are interested in trading though.
  • Richmond been determined to give no clues to any clubs around them as to what they're picking.
  • Sam Cumming, Robey & Taylor are leading contenders at Richmond's pick.
  • Jacob Farrow might be in contention too with Richmond. Some clubs think he's a sneaky chance to be picked by Richmond but Twomey didn't have the guts to put him in there as one of the picks.
  • Can mount arguments for Sully Robey or Xavier Taylor at Richmond. Thinks Robey just because might fit the midfield group taken in last years draft.
  • If Sully Robey gets to Essendon's pick they will take him.
  • Jacob Farrow in the mix for Essendon's pick.
  • The Melbourne picks he thinks Nairn will be one of them, doesn't see anyone picking them before him.
  • Potentially too many similarities between Farrow & Nairn for the Dee's to take both.
  • Essendon & Carlton deal will happen for the current pick 9.
  • Essendon between Dovaston, Latrelle Pickett, Oskar Taylor, Grlj and Schubert for that pick. Potentially might try sneak Dyson Sharp to that pick.
  • North will get pick 11 which will be pick 15. Latrelle Pickett, Dovaston and Grlj in the conversation at that pick. A chance they go tall and take Schubert or Thredgold.
  • Harry Kyle to be bid on by the Giants & the Swans will match.
  • West Coast a chance to double barrel bid on GCS academy guys Jai Murray and Beau Addinsall. If they want Beau more than Jai they bid on Jai first so there's a chance GCS don't have the points to match.
  • Josh Lindsay also in the Eagles mix around 19.
  • Adelaide between Mitch Marsh & Archie Ludowyke. Twomey went for the local factor.
  • Fremantle will consider bidding on Tylah Williams & Adam Sweid. A chance if Schubert is on the board Freo won't bid and will just take Schubert in case one of the clubs don't match.
  • Essendon will be very tight to match on 25 for Sweid. Depends on what pts they get back from Sweid.
  • Hawthorn interested in Liam Hetherton & Harley Barker.
  • Top 6 he's confident in unless there's a trade, if there is then it's pick your own adventure.
  • Archie Ludowyke Twomey couldn't fit into the 30 but Geelong & Adelaide are interested.
  • Phillipou has been looked at by WCE & the Giants.
  • Geelong have interest in Greeves at 23, that's probably his starting point.
  • Max King & Zac McCarthy likely to be bid on in the 30's.
  • Twomey's Late mail coming tonight.

I imagine Oscar Taylor is the 'surprise'... Unlikely to get past GWS and Dogs.

The other 2 I imagine are Grilj and Farrow.

The number of times our club has drafted someone I had no idea of prior to the draft....
So many times!

And we end up filling the trade forum with 100 pages and no one gets even remotely close to the mark 😂

Still it's the journey not the destination when it comes to talking about draft picks.

I nailed Ward, Mackenzie and Watson for us in successive years. Granted, they were relatively easy selections for us I thought.

This year is way harder.

Farrow has been my gut feel. Just looks like a Hawthorn player.
If he's gone and Grlj is still on the board I'd be surprised if we don't call his name out.
Also, Nairn, like Farrow, feels like a Hawthorn type of player. Part of me is wondering if the 'Melbourne are interested and now he's invited to night 1' could only be half true, and it's actually us.

Time will tell.

Tigers unless they want Robey will trade with scum but have to play the game. Tigers 3 and 38 for 6/9 likely deal. That’s horrible because I really like Robey but scum reducing their number of top end picks obviously makes you want them screw up to stay down the bottom.

Tigers are massive fans of Robey, Cumming and Taylor. Their current draft position lets them select two. I doubt they trade down.

Okay I just watched a fair amount of Oskar Taylor highlights and I'm converted. Sorry to anyone who I argued against saying we wouldn't take a half back.
Just did the same. Looks the goods.
