If you've never watched before and are complaining about how drawn out this is, just know it's the same every year, and despite the constant feedback they have never acknowledged it or looked like changing it.

Just accept it and enjoy the possibility that some surprises might take place.

Not sure why the Lions would let us move up for a future third but I’m taking it.

Still have a future second and third if we want to try moving up even more.

strange that we have not given up 59 & 66( now 55 and 61) in that trade.. Lions lost 150 pts as well

Maybe we offer 10+18 for Tigers pick 4(7 now)

59 & 66 should be 45 and 50 by the time this night ends and could trade that for a 30's pick for any club still holding picks to be used for bids

Agreed. AFL needs to change this rule. GC/ Lions should only be allowed to select 1 academy kid or match a bid once in the first two rounds. This then gives other clubs the chance to select, evening out the field.

My thoughts exactly. If not him, someone else will get pushed out to due to lack of opportunity and/or financial frustration.

That will hopefully be the natural evolution of the massive advantage the Northern clubs get.

It’s really a two part issue as well.

They get access no matter where they finish, and in this case the other issue is that a team like Richmond who finished second last get the 7th kid in the open pool. The pool needs to be open or it’s just a severely handicapped comp.
