dropped our first pick back three spots across two trades, gained future 2nds (St K, GWS)
upped our second pick by three spots, cost our future third.
This sounds like pretty good dealing. Well done Sleepy!

Smart drafting. By the time Schubert will be AFL ready, Chol and Lewis will be in their 30s. I think Nairn could be ready earlier, but they have that time to develop.

Our key backs we already have Mraz, McCabe and Blanck.

Midfield we have ward, Frenchie, Finn, I can see Cmac and butler going through aswell. Next year I see us going after mids ;)

Nairn is 188cm. He's a utility/mid, more than he is a tall. He had 29, 30 and 31 disposals as a mid in his last 3 games for Central Districts.
I did notice that he was listed as 188, I'm pretty sure Dicko is 188 too (I'm 188 so that number stands out when I see it), he was a good deal taller than Dicko.

I'd be pumped if he's a 3rd tall who can play wing/cycle through the midfield as well.

Draft slider, but really? Our biggest issue is midfield. Understand our first pick as he is a mid that can play forward (potential to be a petracca type if everything went perfect), but the second pick?

Think it sums up this draft really. After Sharp there wasn't any exposed mids left. You really want Sweid? Meh

We've banked 2 F2's. If we don't bring in an a grader next trade period, we're primed to trade up in a much better draft and take a mid.

Nairn played a SANFL reserves game this year for 16 disposals at 88% efficiency and a goal.

So that's a solid return for a young utility in his first game against men.

His endurance and footy smarts are why I was so keen. Seems like a player we could have connecting us between defence and attack, but also playing one-out up forward like a Mitch Owen or Bailey Fritsch type.

Our questionable trade with Blues when we dropped from 9 to 10 came back to bite us.. Could’ve taken Sharp.. From then we did as well as we could..

Freo stuffed up by not bidding on Tylah Williams first and then Adam Sweid.

Eagles have 2 picks 29 & 34 coming up and only 1 spot on list... They have promised the other one for some DFA or Rookie I think.

Which means pick 34( or 29) can be up for trade, won't mind giving up our F2( not GWS, can't trade Saints) for that.

Can then look for NHH or Greeves with those pics.
Hope North bid on Ison next to exhaust Blues next 3 picks

We traded up to get ahead of Freo who were keen on Schubert. I bloody hope Weddle trains with the midfield group over summer. The missing link in their, even if Ward, Frenchie and Buts get far greater midfield opportunity/minutes.

I'd love us to work out how Geelong play Holmes and see if we can replicate that. Holmes seems to start half -back, wing or half-forward but then play on-ball.

He's not a good clearance or centre bounce player so mitigated that, but they hit him on the fly around the ball often.

We have 2 list spots left. If there’s no T Williams bid I’d say it’s highly likely we take a player with pick 28 and trade 33 for a F2.

Please don’t let it be yours, don’t think I can handle another Hawks death ride.

Reminds me of Jarrad Waite who was immensely underated. Pure footballer and athlete

We never thought we’d be using the picks when we made the trade tho. Hard to be critical when it was part of a completely different strategy.

We will let you pick which one again😎
