We hold those picks and get our established mid with them next year, ideally Humphrey or the dream in Butters. With our pick tonight I hope we take a swing on a mid.So.
Who thinks we're going to trade back in for another player early on night 2?
And who thinks we hold off until next year so that we have a big pile of picks to trade for established talent instead?

You forgot an “r”Not sure our first + 2 second round picks = “big pile of picks”. Bloody Gold Coast = “big pile of picks”.
Just a question, how does this push back our improvements a year?
They traded it to get Lindsay in think as we may have traded to dogs instead if West Coast didn't biteWhat’s lost in West coast trade is they basically gave us a second rounder for nothing. They traded it so they would tactically bid on Murray thinking they would get Adinsall as they wouldn’t match. GC still matched. All they had to do was bid on Patterson after Uwland and they would have got there man. Massive balls up
The only players we were interested in pre-draft for our first were Sharp, Farrow & Grlj. Nairn was the player we wanted that we didn't think would last till 22 which was why we traded down to 18 initially. Were we aiming for both as soon as the night started? Is there anyone we missed on?
Weren’t you saying a couple of weeks ago that Hawthorn needed to stick and pick even if a future first was the prize as another first won’t be the key that unlocks a Butters/Humphrey deal? We're a club looking to trade in established stars . Could've had two firsts next year. Great starting point for a Humphrey or Walsh. We do lack some genuine star quality in the middle.
2 that will go at the very least for Humphrey.Easily trade our Future seconds for a first round pick, Carlton will be looking for points to land Walker. We should have 4 First round picks to play with next year.
I would argue that regarding dear, he is the new modern day key forward who is very athletic, lean and has one hell of a jump on him.Have a think through about literally everything said since our PF loss. Then have a think through about trade fortnight. Then think about what happened last night.
BTW: isnt Dear the Gunston replacement?
So.

We’ll be able to trade up in a super draft for another first next year pretty easily now. Someone will need points. Kinda wanna trade back in for NHH though

He was our target after the first dozen.
Once those first three were gone we traded back a few spots to make sure we got Nairn. Trading for future 2nds was an unexpected bonus.
Our second was going to be used on Hetherton because I don't think anyone believed Schubert would be available. He was a very pleasant surprise to all concerned.
