Or for NGA players who dont receive a bid. Not the case for F/S unfortunately.Pretty sure Cat B is reserved for people who have not played AFL at any level for two years. So Darcy will just be your standard rookie.

Side note wouldn't want too many picks available next year with Butters acquisition possible. The more picks we have the higher price Port will ask for more than likelyIn the Mock draft i participated in I traded out our first for Saints F1 and our Second for Melbourne's F2 via the Suns.
I then drafted Avery Thomas with pick 52 (which came into the 40s) I then traded out our FF4 for pick 51 and drafted the K-Man before taking Darcy in the rookie draft.
3 pretty handy players whilst going into 2026 with 2 firsts, 2 seconds and a third.
My thoughts exactly mate . The more we trade into next year will just be requested by port for butters.Side note wouldn't want too many picks available next year with Butters acquisition possible. The more picks we have the higher price Port will ask for more than likely
The price will be high regardless.Side note wouldn't want too many picks available next year with Butters acquisition possible. The more picks we have the higher price Port will ask for more than likely

We were linked to a ruck last year but they went before our pick. As I said before probably the last year or so to grab one so that they are ready when English is in his 30's. Better for us to have some competition for that spot when the time comes than put all the eggs in one basket.Another project ruck?
Also with 5 players on the bench the ability to play an extra ruck, especially with the the new rules potentially speeding up the game more and further favouring athletic rucks, rather then mature bulky types taking 90% of contests. Prior to the rull changes I was more then happy with our depth. We were linked to a ruck last year but they went before our pick. Luamon LualThe bolter is apparently a real vanilla moneyball kind of pick i don't know the draft well enough to speculate who it is but he apparently ticks all our boxes
We have one other genuine no.1 ruck on our list apart from English who is untested at the top level. There was a reason we have been looking at rucks over the past year or so. It is one of the weak points of our list overall. Also with 5 players on the bench the ability to play an extra ruck, especially with the the new rules potentially speeding up the game more and further favouring athletic rucks, rather then mature bulky types taking 90% of contests. Reckon he's more versatile than that. He says he's played pretty much every position (wing and mid more than anything), and that ruck is his least experience. Interesting that when asked if he expects to start AFL as a forward (until he puts on weight), he answers - yeah or defence. He talks about most of his junior experience being wing, unless the oppo had a big gun forward, in which case he'd play back to lock them down.Another project ruck?
He hasn't really played much top line football either and only just switched to football as his sole focus. He has alot of development left and with his athletic profile his best position in my view could still be unproven.Reckon he's more versatile than that. He has an amazing athletic profile, plays aggressively, and yes..could of pursued basketball career. Could likely contribute all over the ground.
Could also become the perfect ruck type that Bevo would love.
I haven't seen any defensive side to his game, whether that is because he is too focused on being his sides distributor or because he lacks the defensive ability im not sure as it's often a trap u18s fall into especially when considered the drafts best kick. His speed isn't an issue running a 3 second 20m sprint, I think it just stands out more given the focus on out and out speed at his position, although his kicking at speed is a concern to me.Can Lindsay kick on his right and does he have any dash whatsoever? Can he do a defensive job?
Nearly every bit of footage I’ve seen of him is handball receives or loose ball gets and going left or stopping and then going left.

No question on that but the more we have the more they will ask for. Wouldn't be putting any extras into next year for that reason imoThe price will be high regardless.
KrasnadamskisWho’s the ruck being mentioned above?

33 coming into 20 sounds a bit hopeful. In terms of open pool, I could see our 1st & 2nd picks sitting at #14 & #20 after all the bids. While I understand if we go Kras that he’s a list need, I do think there are some decent players around.
I’ve got these guys in our 2 ranges:
Some will be gone before our 1st, most gone by our 2nd, and some aren’t much of a need. I’d prefer 2 of those first 11 if possible, I’d be fine with Kras over the bottom 3
- Cameron Nairn
- Lachy Dovaston
- Sam Grlj
- Oskar Taylor
- Josh Lindsay
- Harley Barker
- Mitch Marsh
- Latrelle Pickett
- Blake Thredgold
- Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves
- Jevan Phillipou
- Aidan Schubert
- Oliver Greeves
- Archie Ludowyke
Not the 20th selection but if you ignore the academy kids, I think we potentially grab the 20th available talent33 coming into 20 sounds a bit hopeful.
But of that list I'm taking Grlj if hes there at our first (unlikely).
