You are downplaying Young's unavailability, our midfield ain't shit without him and we haven't found a way to fill the hole he leaves behind.
One player and it’s a shit midfield ?
Bulldogs played 6 games without Bonts. Done okay.
The coaches need to pull out a joker card and just play Jackson or Chapman in the middle. Young was half back until the last 4 games of 2023. Time to do the same for the rest of the season

Did we previously know a timeline on Walters? I notice it is now 5 weeks.

Apparently the league has given a directive to be more accurate when reporting injury timelines.

Nope. It's a good thing that the clubs are being more transparent on injuries.
Geelong are the worst and Chris Scott just blatantly lies at press conferences saying he doesn’t know anything about how long people are out for, just when they are available.

There's a few on 5 weeks, which aligns with the bye (roughly)

would imagine it's an approximate, with more clarity later on.

There's no definite with injuries, I imagine some injuries (and players) are fairly consistent while others may range fairly widely.

Clubs clearly aren't fully transparent, but balancing that is it's not like they have perfect knowledge of what will happen.
The human body isn't that robotic.

Sean Darcy?

Put Darcy on ice for the rest of the year and gift him healthy to the highest bidder.
I think the club needs to admit the Darcy situation is a big mistake and end it but I worry what it will do to the club culture if he gets thrown under the bus and moved on. Majority of flags are won by clubs you cant even name their ruck, its not an important position to win, only need to break even at best. Better off spending that salary cap on a gun midfielder and having a meek type player in there with a chop out from a forward.

Darcy Cameron is a Premiership Ruck, he played well last night.
He got beat by Jackson in the midfield though (another Premiership Ruck).
I think the 2 rucks has been an abject failure, and it's taking too much $ out of the salary cap

Two expensive rucks doesn't work.

I would move on Darcy

We aint winning a flag with him and the clown who offered him a million years needs to be put onto the centrelink queue

The importance of the ruck position has waxed and waned over time.
Conceding the ruck completely doesn't seem to work, but getting someone who can be effective enough is a solid strategy.

With more teams that go that strategy though, the more you can make it a potential point of difference with a dominant ruck, so I also understand the philosophy of trying to find a strength you can exploit.

If, and it's a big if now, Darcy can get back to his best then I think it has potential to work very well.
We just haven't seen it, and the question is will we ever see it?

Why would he be crying then?
When you keep having setbacks when doing everything right then it can hit you hard

He wants to be out there to help the team, it's a draining process constantly being touch and go, alot of scrutiny coming his way because his body is letting him down

All this added up means anything minor still feels major

With the fast transitions nowadays, it means a mobile ruckman who can assist to cover is advantageous. Unfortunately ATM Darcy is like a lumbering dinosaur that maybe going extinct. But maybe his fitness is still the issue so it's glaringly obvious

He had zero pre season. And then came into the team early because Jackson went down. His fitness was always going to be a slow build this year. Unfortunately now it's at a halt again
