What if we pay 200k of his salary? It's just not feasible.
We'd have to throw in a decent draft pick to get someone to take his contract, and we're short on those.
We've got him for another year, let's just hope he stays fit. He can obviously play.
You gotta put a disclaimer on those sorts of posts mate. My heart can't take it.No intel there, just thought it was an apt meme.
We donāt know his 2026 payments though do we?He just forwent a trigger, didn't actually change the money he got in his last year.
Ok, say heās on only 500 for the final year.We donāt know his 2026 payments though do we?
Theoretically if we assume the media reports as true, itās $900,000 over 6 but it doesnāt state a figure year on year, we could only be on the hook for half that next year, making it a lot easier to move him on if needed
Can't take these stats seriously given the opposition we have played the last 3 weeks, especially North and Eagles. Would want a bigger sample size before we can take these stats seriously. Until then....grain of salt
The pressure brought by North was basically.at the same level as geelong. And the sheer turnaround extreme to extreme kinda dwarfs that. If they were actually just bad they'd still be ranked shit or 'shit but not quite as shit'.Yep, vs genuine traffic cones in 2 of the 3 weeks. Overall we still lack class on our list imo. Hence why the absence of Newman, Elijah and Harry etc early in the year was so profound. Is it an insurmountable gulf vs other teams? No. But we'd absolutely benefit with a few more hard running ball users like most of the best teams have right now.
Death, taxes and Gov having a crack in a contract year...Hewett and McGovern are on track to hitting extension triggers, Tom Morris reported last nightā¦
Silvagni looking at an upgraded contract extensionā¦
Get the ball in that kid's hands at every opportunity. His I50s are elite.I've thoroughly enjoyed the development/opening month of Will White and Matt Carrolls careers.
If thatās the case, awesome list management to have a 1 year extension in his current deal. Canāt imagine he will get anything more than 1 year deals from now onDeath, taxes and Gov having a crack in a contract year...
It also bursts pipes.Pressure makes Diamonds
Mind boggling youād chase a ruckman on so much money when the rest of the list is in a poor state. Itās almost as if a certain list manager wants to feel the satisfaction of finally poaching a big fish against his old club and will sacrifice the world to do it.
We shouldn't laugh at them, he did exactly the same thing here with former GWS players. Could argue it's what set us back a few years - instead of investing in new players as opposed to failed GWS players.Jack Carroll, Liam Stocker and Paddy Dow
Although they did give up the equivalent of around a 4th rounder for Dow...
Your view is through the rear view mirror....boy we should have burst more pipes over the years....look forward and embrace the opportunity on the horizonIt also bursts pipes.
Pressure in the right spots is important. Moving Doc on when not ready would impact the list greatly, he's a much loved and respected figure in the group and by Voss. Sometimes there's more to an individuals impact on a list than just on-field performance. If a board member came in and pushed him out I could see that causing more issues than any supposed benefits - especially if it's just for a MSD spot, which isn't that valuable at all.
Off-season is a different story and these conversations happen a lot, North even moved on the most capped player in history (except for Craig Bradley who played over 500 professional games, though the VFL won't acknowledge that...) when he clearly had some juice left.
i guess Harry & Walsh aren't being traded now?![]()
Ok, say heās on only 500 for the final year.
If weāre forcing him out (and given what he provides for the team, the reason would purely be fitness), weāre still not going to get anything for him.
Who would take him for free in those circumstances, who still needs to pay 500? Even if we paid 200 of it?
i guess Harry isnāt being traded now?![]()

Heās on a 2 year deal.First anyone has heard of Gov hitting a trigger, would seem unlikely to me, as his deal was quite long to start with. Hewetts has been raised and previously i thought him staying wasnāt great but heās been fantastic with more responsibility.
We need to move past Gov though and i hope any trigger talk is BS
